Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower has strengthened its collaboration with the private sector to enhance the country's digital workforce in response to growing industry demand for technology-skilled professionals.
The initiative was marked by the launch of the Future Ready digital talent development program in partnership with XLSMART in Jakarta on Friday, July 3, 2026.
Designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, the program integrates technical training, professional certification, mentoring, internships, and direct access to career opportunities.
Collaboration to Meet Industry Demand
Indonesia's Minister of Manpower Yassierli said the rapid transformation of the workforce requires stronger collaboration among government, businesses, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure that workforce competencies align with evolving industry needs.
He emphasized that connecting skills development with real business requirements is a strategic approach to addressing employment challenges amid accelerating digital transformation.
According to Yassierli, the partnership is expected to produce a new generation of Indonesian digital professionals who are adaptable, globally competitive, and capable of supporting national economic growth while contributing to the country's Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.
Future Ready Connects Training with Employment
President Director and CEO of XLSMART Rajeev Sethi said that expanding digital infrastructure alone is not enough. Developing high-quality human capital is equally essential to maximizing the benefits of digital transformation.
He noted that Indonesia already offers numerous training programs, but the greater challenge is creating initiatives that effectively connect learning with real employment opportunities.
Through the Future Ready program, XLSMART aims to reach one million young digital talents via its online learning platform, issue 10,000 professional training certificates, and help at least 1,000 participants secure internships or employment opportunities.
Participants will gain access to competency-based training, industry-recognized certifications, mentorship from experienced professionals, internship placements, and recruitment opportunities through partner companies.
The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Manpower and XLSMART, reinforcing their long-term commitment to developing Indonesia's digital talent ecosystem.
Conclusion
The Future Ready initiative reflects a shared commitment between the government and industry to equip Indonesia's workforce with the skills required for the digital economy. By combining training, certification, mentorship, and employment pathways, the program aims to prepare more job-ready digital professionals capable of meeting the evolving needs of modern industries.
