Jakarta, INTI - A group of master's students from Pamulang University conducted a data security awareness session for school students as part of efforts to prevent digital crime in the age of artificial intelligence.

Raising Awareness on Data security

The activity aimed to increase students’ awareness of the importance of protecting personal data from potential breaches.

Student I Made Mustika Kerta Astawa explained the importance of using strong passwords and changing them regularly.

“The goal is to prevent data breaches. Nowadays, many applications require email registration, and there could be malicious intent behind them. These checks are important to prevent data misuse,” he said.

Students were also encouraged to check their email accounts through specialized services to detect potential data leaks.

This initiative is part of a community service program involving both lecturers and students.

The Importance of Digital Literacy in the AI Era

Lecturer Rafi Mahmud Zain emphasized the importance of digital literacy amid the rapid advancement of AI technology.

The materials presented covered risks such as malicious applications, misinformation (hoaxes), and online gambling.

This educational effort is expected to help students become more responsible technology users and better protect their privacy.

School principal Budi Waluyo expressed appreciation for the program, noting that it broadened students’ knowledge.

“AI is everywhere, and whether we realize it or not, we are all AI users. AI is a very powerful tool, and the real power lies in those who use it wisely. Always protect your privacy, always verify information, and think critically, don’t trust things too easily,” he said.
