Jakarta, INTI — In an exclusive interview with INTI Media during the INTI Expo 2025 at JIExpo, the Director of Electronics and Telecommunications at the Ministry of Industry, Junadi Marki, outlined concrete government measures to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s electronics industry amid rapid global technological advancements. He noted that the electronics sector has become vital, as nearly all aspects of daily life rely on digital devices such as smartphones, computers, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Industrial Tree as a Strategy to Strengthen the Production Ecosystem
Junadi Marki explained that the government is promoting industrial structure strengthening through the “industrial tree” concept to map the value chain from components to finished products. He emphasized the importance of understanding which components can be produced domestically to enhance national competitiveness. Policies such as the Local Content Requirement (TKDN), including a minimum 35 percent requirement for mobile phones, serve as key steps to strengthen the electronics and telecommunications industry. Through this strategy, the Ministry of Industry aims to create an integrated and innovative industrial ecosystem in Indonesia.
Human Resource Competency as a Key to Digital Transformation
Junadi Marki highlighted the importance of enhancing human resource (HR) capacity to face increasingly complex digitalization. Through exhibitions, business forums, and business matching activities like those at INTI Expo, the Ministry seeks to map HR competency needs and industrial technological capabilities within a strategic roadmap. This effort is also crucial to ensure that the national workforce can adapt to global technological developments.
Synergy Between Human Resources and Technology for Industrial Independence
“From exhibitions and discussions, we can map strategies for HR and technology development so that value creation can be maximized within the country,” he explained. The synergy between government policy, technological capability, and HR development is expected to enhance long-term industrial independence while accelerating the creation of an innovation-based, competitive industrial ecosystem.
Towards “Indonesia Emas” 2045 Through Electronics Industry
Junadi Marki stressed that the development of the electronics industry must align with the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision. Achieving this requires a strong roadmap for strengthening HR, mastering technology, and fostering cross-sector collaboration. He encouraged young people not only to be users but also creators and developers of technology. “Our electronics and telematics industry has enormous potential,” he said. Collaboration between the government, institutions, and private sectors is key to ensuring the national industrial transformation aligns with long-term development goals.
Collaboration to Strengthen the National Industrial Ecosystem
Junadi Marki viewed INTI Expo 2025 as a critical moment for industry stakeholders to enhance synergy and collaboration. Through forums and exhibitions, industry players can exchange information, understand the industrial tree concept, and formulate strategies to strengthen industrial structure in a measurable and sustainable manner. “Events like this are important for improving communication and coordination among stakeholders. In this way, the programs implemented will be more effective and sustainable,” he concluded.
Conclusion
The strategic steps presented by the Ministry of Industry, as explained by Junadi Marki, demonstrate the government’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation and strengthening national industrial independence. Through the industrial tree concept, TKDN policy, and HR development, the government is building a foundation for a globally competitive electronics industry. HR enhancement is key to ensuring Indonesia is not just a user but also a producer of technology. Synergy among government, industry, academia, and the younger generation is expected to create a resilient, innovative, and adaptive industrial ecosystem toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
