Kemkomdigi Launches Digital Government Clinic to Accelerate Regional Transformation

7 months ago | Digital Technology

Jakarta, INTI – The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) has officially launched the Digital Government Clinic program as a solution to accelerate digital transformation in regional areas. The program addresses various challenges faced by local governments, ranging from limited human resources (HR) and lack of policy understanding to inadequate technology infrastructure. Through innovation and collaboration between the central and regional governments, the Digital Government Clinic is expected to reduce the digital divide across Indonesia.

Consultation Platform for Local Governments

Director General of Digital Government Technology at Kemkomdigi, Mira Tayyiba, explained that the Digital Government Clinic serves as a channel for both central and regional governments to share experiences, innovations, and solutions.

“Through this clinic, Kemkomdigi provides an opportunity for local governments to consult and convey the challenges they encounter in the field when implementing digital transformation,” Mira said in her statement in Jakarta, 29 Auguts 2025.

The services offered include digital assessments, technology implementation consultations, mentoring for Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE) with expert mentors, and the digitalization of priority sectors tailored to the needs of each region.

Knowledge Transfer Between Regions

In addition to being a consultation space, the Digital Government Clinic also serves as a platform for knowledge transfer. Best practices from one region can be adopted by others, enabling a more equitable pace of digital transformation.

“Digital transformation requires collaboration. We set the standards, while provincial and district/city governments implement them according to the unique characteristics of their regions,” Mira explained.

User-Centric Digital Government

Furthermore, Mira emphasized that the program is part of the national strategy to build a user-centric digital government. A key step in this effort is establishing inter-agency data exchange systems, so citizens no longer need to repeatedly provide the same data when accessing public services.

“We want government services to be built from the perspective of users. Citizens only need to input their data once, and it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that data exchange runs securely and effectively,” she said.

Synergy as the Key to Success

According to Mira, accelerating digital transformation cannot be done in isolation. It requires cross-sector synergy involving the central government, local governments, academia, and industry players to establish a strong and sustainable national digital ecosystem.

Conclusion

The Digital Government Clinic represents a strategic step by Kemkomdigi to accelerate digital transformation in regional areas. With consultation services, knowledge transfer, and cross-sector collaboration, the program is expected to bridge the digital divide while enhancing the quality of technology-based public services.
