Jakarta, INTI - Telkomsel signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Telecom Global Limited (CTG) to explore opportunities to develop integrated digital solutions for the enterprise sector and vertical industries in Indonesia. The MoU signing took place at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai on June 25, 2026.
The integration will include the use of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), ICT-based services, and opportunities to utilize 5G networks across various industries. The aim is to provide more reliable and secure connectivity for industrial activities in various environments, from remote areas and industrial estates to mining sites and ports.
Industrial needs are now shifting from network coverage to high-performance connectivity such as 5G, which supports real-time monitoring, automation, and integration with platforms like AI, IoT, and edge computing.
IoT devices such as sensors and connected devices collect data from the field, while AI helps process it into more understandable and actionable information. With the right connectivity support, the benefits can be felt in asset monitoring, anticipating operational disruptions, improving process efficiency, and strengthening workplace safety.
CTG’s Tech Solutions and Telkomsel’s Network
In this collaboration, CTG will bring its technological solutions and capabilities to support the development of AI solutions for various industrial sectors, IoT, and ICT-based services. These capabilities will be combined with Telkomsel's network, sales channels, and understanding of customer needs in Indonesia.
The two companies will also explore opportunities to develop SIM card-based solutions for AI and IoT, as well as support 5G and LTE connectivity for various industrial sectors.
Telkomsel's VP of Enterprise Product Management and Development, Kwok Wai Kiat, said that Telkomsel intends to bring technology and create a meaningful impact on businesses and various industrial sectors in Indonesia.
“This MoU with CTG is an important step for Telkomsel in driving the development of 5G, AI, IoT, and ICT-based solutions tailored to the needs of various industrial sectors in Indonesia, while also delivering impactful innovations that open up new growth opportunities and help shape the next phase of Indonesia's digital and industrial transformation,” said Wai Kiat.
Meanwhile, VP of Carrier Business for China Telecom Global, Lu Faming, said that this partnership is hoped to open more opportunities in supporting Indonesia’s digital transformation.
