Gorontalo Province’s Kominfotik Develops PENTAGON Application to Integrate Various Government Data and Services

2 hours ago | Digital Technology

Jakarta, INTI - The Gorontalo Province's Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Kominfotik) continues to strengthen its digital government transformation through the development of the Gorontalo Open Data Platform (Platform Open Data Gorontalo/PENTAGON) as a center for integrating sectoral data, geospatial information, and various regional government digital services.

The application development was carried out through an internal coordination meeting with Head of Statistics Sumarto Biki, Head of PSDKI Fried Dewi, and the application's technical development team. The meeting aimed to determine the direction of PENTAGON's development so that it could integrate various information systems owned by the Gorontalo Provincial Government into a single, integrated data ecosystem.

Improving Provincial Data Government

Sumarto Biki stated that strengthening PENTAGON is a strategic step to improve the quality of sectoral data governance within the Gorontalo Provincial Government. The development of this application is expected to become a data integration center that supports evidence-based decision-making and strengthens the implementation of Satu Data Indonesia dan Satu Data Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri.

"Quality data must be managed through a standardized process, from collection, checking, validation, to publication," said Sumarto.

Meanwhile, Fried Dewi emphasized the importance of developing a system architecture capable of connecting various government applications through interoperability and secure data exchange.

"PENTAGON will be developed as a platform capable of connecting various regional government digital services through interoperability and data integration mechanisms. The system will enable more effective data exchange between applications, reduce data duplication, and improve the quality of public services," said Dewi.

Integration of Various Digital Data and Services

One of the main focuses of the development is the integration of geospatial data services so that statistical information can be presented in the form of more informative thematic maps. This integration will support regional analysis, development planning, monitoring of development indicators, and evaluation of government programs more accurately and comprehensively.

Furthermore, PENTAGON is also designed to provide various digital services, including data request services, metadata, interoperability via API, analytical dashboards, and data consultation services that can be utilized by regional officials, academics, business owners, and the public.

During the discussion, the team agreed that PENTAGON's development should not only focus on serving as an Open Data portal, but also as a platform that integrates data management business processes, geospatial data services, leadership dashboards, and various digital services that support e-government.

Through this development, the Gorontalo Provincial Government aims to make PENTAGON the center of a regional data and digital services ecosystem that supports effective, transparent, collaborative, and data-driven governance, while simultaneously strengthening the implementation of digital transformation in Gorontalo.

Conclusion

The Gorontalo Province's Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics developed the Gorontalo Open Data Platform (PENTAGON) application as a center for integrating sectoral data, geospatial information, and regional government digital services to strengthen digital government transformation. The Provincial Government aims for PENTAGON to become an integrated data and digital services ecosystem that supports effective, transparent, collaborative, and data-driven governance.
