Jakarta, INTI - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is accelerating the transformation of Indonesia’s industrial technology sector through the 2026 Industrial Technology Pioneer Awards (Rintek) to strengthen manufacturing competitiveness and enhance national industrial independence.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that strengthening the industrial technology ecosystem is a key foundation for building a resilient and globally competitive manufacturing sector.
“I am very pleased to see the national technology ecosystem becoming increasingly mature. The growing number of proposed technological breakthroughs each year not only reflects the rising spirit of creativity among industry players, but also demonstrates that our industries are ready to compete globally. Through Rintek 2026, we want to ensure that practical technologies developed by industries can become the main driving force behind national industrial independence,” Agus said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Rintek Encourages Industrial Innovation
The Rintek Awards are an annual program organized by Kemenperin to promote the growth of technological innovation in the manufacturing industry sector.
Since its launch in 2006, the program has recognized more than 89 industrial companies and supported the development of over 136 applied technologies.
Head of the Industrial Services Standardization and Policy Agency (BSKJI) at Kemenperin, Emmy Suryandari, explained that Rintek 2026 is focused on strengthening the capability of domestic industries to develop local technologies and reduce dependence on imported capital goods.
“The Rintek Awards serve as a form of government appreciation for national industry players who successfully create technological breakthroughs to support business process development and improve domestic industrial independence. We hope this year’s program will attract more applied technologies capable of providing real solutions to current manufacturing industry challenges,” Emmy stated.
Registration Open Until May 2026
Registration for the Rintek Awards 2026 is open to all industrial companies based in Indonesia that have developed technological innovations domestically.
The evaluation process will be conducted objectively by a panel of judges through administrative screening and final substance assessments.
Award categories include Pioneer Innovation, Manufacturing Product Technology, Manufacturing Process Technology, Industrial Service Technology, and Technology Pioneer Evaluation Results.
Registration is open from April 29 to May 29, 2026.
Meanwhile, the judging process is scheduled for August 2026, while the award ceremony will take place in December 2026.
