IDPRO Drives Innovation and Data Center Security through IIDCC 2025 in Jakarta

7 months ago | Data Center and Cloud Computing

Jakarta, INTI – In an exclusive interview with INTI Media, Hendra Suryakusuma, Chairman of the Indonesia International Data Center Provider Organization (IDPRO), shared his insights on the rapidly growing future of Indonesia’s data center industry. He explained that the upcoming Indonesia International Data Center Conference (IIDCC) 2025, set to be held in Jakarta this year, will serve as a crucial moment to strengthen collaboration among industry players in addressing challenges related to data security and energy efficiency.

With the rising demand for digital services and the growing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), data centers are now expected to operate under higher security standards, greater reliability, and improved energy efficiency.

Rapid Growth and Strategic Role of the Data Center Industry

Hendra revealed that the data center industry has evolved into a strategic national sector, attracting significant attention from both public institutions and private enterprises. Since its establishment in 2016, IDPRO which initially had only six members with a total operational capacity of around 32 megawatts has now grown to more than 21 members with a combined capacity reaching 420 megawatts.

“The growth of Indonesia’s data center industry exceeds 18 percent annually,” Hendra explained. “This shows that the sector is not only the backbone of digital infrastructure but also plays a vital role in driving the country’s economic transformation,” he added.

Safeguarding Digital Sovereignty and Cybersecurity

Furthermore, Hendra emphasized the importance of digital sovereignty amid increasing data breach threats. He referred to an incident in June last year, when one data center suffered a major security breach, resulting in a massive leak of Indonesian citizens’ data that later surfaced on the dark web.

“Through IIDCC 2025, we aim to ensure that Indonesia’s data center industry not only focuses on energy efficiency and sustainability but also on strengthening security and digital sovereignty,” he asserted. Hendra added that forums like IIDCC provide a vital platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge and foster cross-sector collaboration.

Cross-Sector Collaboration in the Digital Ecosystem

According to Hendra, IIDCC 2025 will bring together various sectors interconnected within the digital ecosystem including energy providers, technology companies, cloud service providers, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). One of the key strategic partners participating in the event is the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII).

He also highlighted the growing demand for high-density AI servers and GPU servers, which have become integral to modern infrastructure. “Previously, we could only operate racks with a capacity of 15 kilowatts, but now some of our members are running racks with loads reaching up to 60 kilowatts,” he noted. This shift, Hendra explained, directly impacts energy consumption and carbon emissions both crucial issues in achieving sustainable data center operations.

Expectations for IIDCC 2025

Hendra hopes that IIDCC 2025 will serve as a strategic platform for industry players to discover the latest technologies that enhance security, reliability, and energy efficiency in data center operations. “I’ve heard that many exhibitors are preparing to showcase specialized solutions that support energy efficiency and sustainability,” he said.

He added that the event is not merely a technology exhibition but also a platform to strengthen national collaboration and foster a more resilient and self-sufficient data center ecosystem.

Conclusion

Through the organization of IIDCC 2025, IDPRO reaffirms its commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s data center ecosystem with a focus on cybersecurity, energy efficiency, and operational sustainability. Cross-sector collaboration at this event is expected to enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global digital era while safeguarding national data sovereignty amid the rapid pace of technological transformation.
