Jakarta, INTI - PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (XLSMART), through its Sisternet platform, has introduced DigiHer, a new feature integrated with the Digital Talent Scholarship program of Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi). The initiative is designed as an inclusive and accessible digital learning platform to help Indonesian women strengthen their digital literacy, technology skills, productivity, and readiness to participate in the growing digital economy.
The launch of DigiHer reflects XLSMART and Sisternet’s commitment to accelerating the development of women’s digital talents in Indonesia. The initiative also marks the next phase of the #1JutaSisterDigital movement, with an ambitious target of empowering 2.4 million Indonesian women with digital capabilities by 2026.
Bridging the Digital Gender Gap Through Inclusive Learning
Through DigiHer, XLSMART aims to ensure that digital transformation creates broader social impact, not only through improved connectivity but also by enhancing people’s digital skills and competencies.
According to data from the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), internet penetration among men has reached 82.7%, while the figure among women stands at 78.6%. This gap highlights the ongoing challenges women face in accessing digital connectivity, quality training, information, and industry-relevant skill development.
At the same time, digital transformation creates significant opportunities for women to thrive as professionals, entrepreneurs, MSME owners, innovators, and future digital talents.
Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid emphasized that improving women’s digital literacy and skills is essential for strengthening women’s empowerment in Indonesia. Equal access to technology, knowledge, and digital economic opportunities will enable women to contribute more significantly to their families, communities, and national development.
Creating Future-Ready Women Digital Talents
XLSMART’s Director and Chief Regulatory Officer, Merza Fachys, stated that DigiHer represents the company’s commitment to promoting inclusive digital transformation by providing learning opportunities that are accessible, practical, and aligned with community needs.
He highlighted that women play a strategic role within families, communities, MSMEs, and the broader national economy. Therefore, enhancing women’s digital capabilities will generate wider benefits, extending beyond individuals to communities and Indonesia’s digital economic growth.
Through the Sisternet application, DigiHer provides hundreds of digital learning materials that can be accessed anytime and anywhere. The curriculum covers digital literacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), digital productivity, digital marketing, personal branding, digital entrepreneurship, career development, communication, and other essential soft skills.
Beyond learning content, DigiHer is also part of the broader Sisternet ecosystem, offering communities, webinars, mentoring sessions, networking opportunities, career information, and various women empowerment programs.
The platform is open to all Indonesian women, including students, university students, professionals, MSME owners, informal workers, and homemakers who wish to improve their digital capabilities.
The collaboration between Sisternet and Komdigi represents a strategic partnership between the private sector and government to accelerate national digital talent development. By combining Komdigi’s digital competency programs with Sisternet’s growing women empowerment ecosystem, DigiHer is expected to expand access to digital learning for more women across Indonesia.
As a digital connectivity company, XLSMART continues to strengthen Indonesia’s digital infrastructure through improved network leadership, expanded 4G services, and the development of 5G Blanket coverage in various regions. Reliable and extensive connectivity serves as a crucial enabler to ensure that digital learning platforms such as DigiHer can reach more communities, including women in underserved areas.
Moving forward, DigiHer will continue to evolve through expanded learning materials, integration with additional digital competency programs, mentoring, certification opportunities, and career development pathways aligned with future industry demands.
Through this initiative, XLSMART reinforces its commitment to creating a more inclusive digital ecosystem, ensuring that Indonesia’s digital transformation benefits every layer of society and empowers more women to become not only technology users but also creators, leaders, and future digital talents.
Conclusion
The launch of DigiHer marks a significant step toward creating a more inclusive digital ecosystem in Indonesia. Through collaboration between XLSMART and the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the initiative aims to bridge the digital gender gap by equipping millions of Indonesian women with essential digital skills, empowering them to become active contributors, innovators, and leaders in the future digital economy.
