Jakarta, INTI — U.S.-based tech giant Qualcomm has officially acquired the generative artificial intelligence (AI) division of VinAI, a prominent AI research startup headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam. Although the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition signals Qualcomm’s ongoing expansion into the AI sector, particularly in developing cutting-edge AI technologies.

Founded in 2019 by former DeepMind research scientist Hung Bui, VinAI has built a strong reputation for its work in generative AI, including computer vision algorithms and natural language models.
