Gemini 2.5 Pro Now Free to Use! Google’s Smartest AI Is Open to Everyone

1 year ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI – Great news for tech enthusiasts! Google has officially made its most advanced AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, available for free to all users in its experimental version. Previously, access to this model was limited to subscribers of the Google One AI Premium plan.

The announcement was made through the official @GeminiApp account on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, March 31, 2025. “Gemini 2.5 Pro is rolling out. We’ve decided to make the experimental version of Gemini 2.5 Pro available to all Gemini users starting today,” the post read.

An AI Model with Human-Like Reasoning

Gemini 2.5 Pro is not just another chatbot. It is designed as an advanced AI model capable of multi-step logical reasoning, allowing it to solve complex problems in a structured, human-like manner. The model supports a wide range of inputs, including text, images, audio, video, and large datasets, making it a powerful tool for various tasks.

Its ability to understand complex coding structures and full code repositories also makes it an ideal assistant for developers and engineers working on software and web applications—or even video games.

Massive Context Window and Benchmark Performance

One of Gemini 2.5 Pro’s most impressive features is its large context window, capable of handling up to 1 million tokens, with plans to increase it to 2 million tokens. This enables the AI to process lengthy documents, extended conversations, or large text datasets in a single operation.

The model has shown outstanding results in several benchmark tests, such as GPQA, AIME 2025, and Humanity’s Last Exam, outperforming competitors by up to 18.8 percent. In coding benchmarks, Gemini 2.5 Pro also performed significantly better than its predecessor, Gemini 2.0.

“We’ve focused on improving coding performance, and with Gemini 2.5, we’ve made meaningful progress compared to Gemini 2.0—with more improvements still to come,” said Kavukcuoglu, one of Google’s AI research leads.

Free to Try, but With Limitations

Although the experimental version is now free, full access to all features still requires a subscription to the Google Advanced plan, which is part of Google One AI Premium. This subscription is priced at IDR 309,000 per month (around USD 20).

Users can try Gemini 2.5 Pro for free by visiting gemini.google.com, and Google has announced that a mobile app version will be available in the near future.

During this experimental phase, Google invites developers and businesses to explore the capabilities of Gemini 2.5 Pro and provide valuable feedback for future improvements.

Conclusion: AI for Everyone

With the release of Gemini 2.5 Pro to the public, Google is offering a rare opportunity for anyone—whether a student, creator, researcher, or professional—to explore the next generation of artificial intelligence. Though still in its testing phase, Gemini 2.5 Pro already demonstrates a level of reasoning, flexibility, and performance that marks a significant leap forward. This initiative signals Google’s continued commitment to making AI more inclusive, powerful, and accessible for everyone, everywhere.
