Jakarta, INTI - PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC), a data center infrastructure provider and operating company of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, is planning to invest in and expand its data center business in Cikarang, Bekasi, and other strategic locations.
NeutraDC is targeting an increase in its data center capacity to 400 megawatts (MW). In the longer term, the company aims to achieve a total capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW) across Indonesia and Southeast Asia, with facilities located in strategic areas and industrial zones.
The expansion plans will proceed after the full 21.5 MW capacity of NeutraDC Hyperscale Data Center (HDC) Cikarang (JKT-1) becomes fully operational in the fourth quarter of 2026, with customers having completed the deployment of their infrastructure.
Following this milestone, Telkom plans to use the momentum to pursue further data center expansion, including increasing capacity in Cikarang and other strategic locations.
The expansion is intended to anticipate growing demand for digital infrastructure, particularly data centers, as cloud computing workloads increase alongside the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered applications.
NeutraDC Group CEO Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin stated that the company will focus on developing data center infrastructure that aligns with evolving customer requirements.
"The full occupancy of Building 1 at the Cikarang data center demonstrates the continuously growing market demand for digital infrastructure," Rakhmad said, as quoted by InfoDigital on Thursday, November 4, 2026.
He explained that achieving full capacity at NeutraDC's Cikarang facility represents more than just an opportunity for expansion. The company will also ensure that future developments remain aligned with customer demand and emerging technological advancements.
As part of its business development strategy, NeutraDC is also exploring potential land acquisitions within industrial zones for future expansion. These proposals will be submitted to Danantara Indonesia for further assessment and approval.
NeutraDC is identifying locations that can support data center development by evaluating several critical factors, including energy availability, connectivity, and supporting infrastructure readiness.
The company also plans to collaborate with various stakeholders, including members of the TelkomGroup digital ecosystem and portfolio companies under Danantara Indonesia.
These efforts are intended to identify development opportunities that can support the long-term growth of the digital industry and data center business.
NeutraDC Strengthens Its Digital Infrastructure Services Through Three Business Lines
In addition to expanding its facilities, NeutraDC provides digital infrastructure solutions through three primary business lines.
The first is Neutra Colocation, which provides facilities to accommodate customers' IT infrastructure.
The second is Neutra Compute, offering computing services designed to support AI-related workloads and processing requirements.
The third is Neutra Connect, which provides connectivity services linking digital systems and ecosystems.
Together, these three services are designed to address the needs of various customer segments, including businesses developing and operating AI-powered applications.
Amid increasing computing demand, both existing and newly developed data centers must prioritize resource efficiency and the readiness of supporting infrastructure.
Therefore, data center expansion planning must consider not only capacity requirements and market demand but also sustainability aspects to ensure responsible and long-term growth.
Through ongoing infrastructure development and the exploration of new expansion opportunities, NeutraDC aims to strengthen its contribution to Indonesia's digital infrastructure ecosystem while supporting the sustainable growth of the country's technology and digital economy.
Conclusion
NeutraDC is accelerating its data center expansion, targeting 400 MW in the near term and 1 GW in the long term across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Driven by growing demand for cloud computing and AI infrastructure, the expansion will strengthen Telkom's position in the regional digital infrastructure market while supporting Indonesia's long-term digital economy growth.
