Jakarta, INTI – As Indonesia strives towards digital transformation and sustainable energy, Siemens has emerged as one of the key players driving change. Through its Tech Summit 2025 held in Jakarta, the global technology company brought together industry and infrastructure leaders to discuss the future of the country's green industry. This moment is an important milestone in Indonesia's journey towards a smarter, more efficient and environmentally friendly industrial era.
Digital Technology and AI as Catalysts of Change
In his keynote speech, Dr. Peter Koerte, Chief Technology Officer & Chief Strategy Officer of Siemens AG, highlighted the importance of utilizing advanced technologies such as industrial artificial intelligence (AI), digital twin, and industrial metaverse. According to him, Indonesia is making rapid strides towards a more sustainable industry.
“By combining these innovations and local potential, we will see the birth of smart factories and greener infrastructure,” Koerte said.
Meanwhile, Surya Fitri, President Director and CEO of PT Siemens Indonesia, added that digitalization is the key to improving the competitiveness of the national industry. Siemens is committed to continuously delivering efficient, proven, and customer-oriented technology solutions.
50 Years of Siemens Contribution in Indonesia
2025 is a special year for Siemens Indonesia. The company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Switchgear plant in Jakarta, which has been operating since 1975 as a production center for low and medium voltage electrical equipment. The plant has even been designated by the government as a National Vital Object (OBVITNAS) due to its important role in maintaining national energy security.
As part of this commemoration, Siemens inaugurated Xperience Center Jakarta, an interactive innovation center that serves as a collaborative space for the exploration of electrification, automation, and digitalization technologies. The facility is also designed as a training and development ground for future industry solutions.
Strengthening Collaboration and Customer Service
In an effort to strengthen services, Siemens also launched the Siemens Indonesia Call Center, which gives customers direct access to technical assistance from various regions in Indonesia. This service is expected to speed up technical response and increase customer satisfaction in the industrial and energy sectors.
In addition, Siemens also signed a number of strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with local partners, including:
- PLN Electricity Services and PT Surya Energi Indotama, to accelerate digital transformation and energy efficiency.
- The Ministry of Industry and WANTRII, to support the digitalization of the food, beverage, and palm oil industry sectors.
Support for Education and Innovation
Not only focusing on the industrial sector, Siemens also shows concern for higher education. The company donated PSS SINCAL simulation software and high-performance computers to four major universities in Indonesia: UNDIP, UGM, Pertamina University, and Unsri. This move aims to strengthen electrical engineering curricula while encouraging the development of reliable human resources to support a resilient and sustainable future energy system.
Conclusion
Siemens demonstrates its commitment to supporting Indonesia's industrial transformation towards a greener and more digital direction through cutting-edge technologies such as industrial AI, digital twin, and automation. Through the Tech Summit 2025 and the 50th anniversary of the Switchgear factory in Jakarta, Siemens not only strengthens its role in the manufacturing and energy sectors, but also encourages cross-sector collaboration, from industry, education, to customer service. This initiative proves Siemens' strategic role in accelerating technology adoption to create a more efficient, sustainable, and competitive industrial future.
