Ministry of Creative Economy, Indosat, and Adobe Collaborate to Empower Indonesian Creators Through Digital Opportunities

18 hours ago | Startups & Digital Talent

Jakarta, INTI - The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf), Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat), and Adobe have established a strategic collaboration to accelerate the growth of Indonesia’s creative economy.

Through this partnership, the three organizations aim to help young people and creators transform their creativity into real economic opportunities by leveraging digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The collaboration comes as digital technology becomes increasingly accessible across Indonesia. However, a key challenge remains: how to turn digital skills and technology access into sustainable businesses, career opportunities, and creative works with economic value.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that Indonesia’s creative economy is built upon the nation’s rich intellectual assets, cultural heritage, and the creativity of its people.

"The foundation of Indonesia’s creative economy lies in intellectual property rooted in our cultural identity and the creativity of our society. In the AI era, our focus is to use technology to enhance human creativity rather than replace it," he said.

According to him, stronger collaboration between the government and industry is essential to equip younger generations with the skills needed to compete in the global market.

Equipping Young Indonesians with Digital and Creative Skills

The initiative also supports Kemenekraf’s ECHOES (Ekraf Goes to School and Campus) program, which encourages students and young talents to strengthen their understanding of the creative economy, master digital technologies, and explore the application of AI in creative industries.

President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Vikram Sinha, emphasized that Indonesia holds enormous potential in the creative sector. However, many young creators still need better access to digital tools, skills development, and broader opportunities.

"By combining the power of AI, creativity, and collaboration, we aim to empower the next generation of creators to unlock their full potential and create meaningful impacts for themselves and their communities," Vikram said.

Adobe Express Access and New Monetization Opportunities for Creators

As part of the collaboration, Indosat will provide six months of free premium access to Adobe Express for all its customers.

Adobe Express is a creative application that enables users to produce visual content more easily and efficiently. Indosat customers will also gain access to learning materials from Adobe Digital Academy, which have been translated into Bahasa Indonesia.

President of Adobe’s Creativity & Productivity Business, David Wadhwani, stated that Adobe is committed to supporting Indonesian creators in developing creative skills that align with current industry demands.

"We are proud to support Indonesian creators by expanding access to Adobe Express, providing learning resources to sharpen their skills, and opening opportunities for them to earn income from their creative works," he explained.

Notably, Indonesia has been selected as the first country to launch Adobe Express’ creator monetization program. The initiative allows creators to generate income from templates they design and publish on the platform.

Selected participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their creations at IDEAFEST, one of Indonesia’s largest creative festivals, allowing them to expand their networks, reach wider markets, and explore new collaboration opportunities.

The partnership will also be strengthened through Indosat’s GENSi (Connected Generation) empowerment program, which aims to reach 15,000 young people across Indonesia this year.

Through GENSi, participants will receive training in digital literacy, AI utilization, digital storytelling, design, visual communication, and creative content creation.

Kemenekraf, Indosat, and Adobe hope this collaboration will encourage more Indonesians to evolve from technology users into productive and innovative creators capable of generating economic value from their ideas.

By combining technology access, training, and monetization opportunities, Indonesia’s young generation is expected to contribute more significantly to the growth of the national creative economy and enhance its competitiveness on the global stage.

Conclusion

The collaboration between Kemenekraf, Indosat, and Adobe represents a major step toward strengthening Indonesia’s creative economy by combining AI, digital technology, and talent development. Through access to creative tools, skills training, and monetization opportunities, Indonesian creators are expected to transform their ideas into sustainable economic value and compete more effectively on the global stage.
