Jakarta, INTI - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi), through its Directorate General of Digital Ecosystem, has launched a collaborative movement aimed at strengthening and accelerating Indonesia’s digital transformation. Known as the Digital Ecosystem Alignment (DEAL) 2026 initiative, the program serves as a platform that brings together government institutions, industry players, academia, investors, startups, MSMEs, communities, and regional administrations to drive tangible actions through collaboration.
As part of DEAL 2026, Kemkomdigi and its stakeholders formulated eight collaboration packages, which were officially declared on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Jakarta. The declaration was witnessed by Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid.
Digital Solidarity as the Foundation of Transformation
According to Meutya, DEAL represents Kemkomdigi’s effort to foster digital solidarity across Indonesia. She emphasized that the DEAL 2026 forum is not merely a ceremonial event focused on presenting reports or statistics, but rather a platform to align stakeholders and encourage collective action through cooperation and solidarity.
“Mutual cooperation has been a defining value of Indonesia since the nation’s founding. It is part of our identity, and today we must bring that spirit into the digital era through the movement to strengthen Indonesia’s digital solidarity,” Meutya said.
The remarks were delivered during the opening of the DEAL 2026 forum. Also in attendance were Deputy Ministers of Communication and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo and Nezar Patria, along with senior officials from the ministry.
Meutya stressed that solidarity and collective action are essential to ensuring the growth of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem. She called on all stakeholders to move forward together so that digital development becomes more inclusive and economic growth delivers meaningful benefits to communities across the country.
“As one nation, we must advance toward a shared goal: achieving digital equity and technological independence for all Indonesians,” she stated.
From Collaboration to Real-World Impact
Through the ecosystem-based approach adopted by DEAL 2026, collaboration efforts are directed toward practical implementation that addresses real challenges on the ground.
Several initiatives are already underway, including the deployment of IoT solutions for farming and aquaculture communities in Sleman, Banjarnegara, and Lamongan; practical AI training programs for 100–150 MSMEs in Wonogiri and Banyuwangi; the development of the DARA feature to help mitigate gaming addiction risks among children; and the creation of the Ecosystem Dashboard as a national single source of truth for digital ecosystem data.
“These initiatives demonstrate that digital transformation is fundamentally about working together to meet public needs, strengthen industries, and improve governance. That is why DEAL 2026 serves as a platform for alignment and coordinated action,” Meutya concluded.
The event was attended by representatives from various government institutions, including the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK-RI), the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs, the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Creative Economy, the National Intelligence Agency (BIN), the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Indonesian National Police, and Danantara.
Several regional leaders were also present, including Medan Mayor Rico Tri Putra Bayu Waas, Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi, and Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat.
Representatives from the digital industry also participated in the forum, including Telkom, Telkomsel, and PT Pos Indonesia, alongside associations, academics, startups, game developers, content creators, MSMEs, as well as farmers and aquaculture practitioners.
Conclusion
DEAL 2026 underscores Indonesia’s commitment to building a more inclusive and collaborative digital ecosystem. By bringing together government agencies, industry leaders, startups, academia, and local communities, the initiative seeks to transform digital cooperation into concrete programs that support innovation, strengthen governance, and expand opportunities across the country. Through this collective approach, Kemkomdigi aims to accelerate digital transformation while ensuring that its benefits are shared by all Indonesians.
