Indonesia and Turkey Collaborate to Develop Mobile Satellite for Global Connectivity

9 months ago | Network Infrastructure

Jakarta, INTI — A major step toward providing robust and adaptive connectivity in Indonesia’s remote areas is now taking shape. PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN), the first private satellite company in Indonesia, has formed a partnership with CTech, a subsidiary of Turkish Aerospace Industries. This collaboration aims to develop a mobile satellite communication system (Satellite Communications on the Move) to meet the needs of land, sea, and air communication.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at PSN’s headquarters in Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, by PSN President Director Adi Rahman Adiwoso and CTech Deputy General Manager of Corporate Marketing and Sales, Ejder Veli Arslan.

Mobile Satellite to Enhance Nationwide Connectivity

According to Adi Rahman, this partnership with CTech will strengthen Indonesia’s position within the global satellite communication ecosystem. The technology being developed will allow users to receive satellite signals while moving between locations, making it highly suitable for ships, aircraft, and land vehicles.

“This is a reliable and efficient solution tailored to the vast and challenging geography of Indonesia,” said Adi. The system will also leverage PSN’s satellite network to ensure equitable national connectivity, supporting key sectors such as transportation, maritime, and national defense.

CTech: Global Experience, Local Solutions

CTech was chosen as a partner due to its strong track record in developing Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communication devices for over two decades. Its parent company, Turkish Aerospace Industries, is a leading player in Turkey’s defense and aerospace sector.

Ejder Veli Arslan expressed his pride in partnering with PSN. He emphasized that Indonesia has significant potential in advancing satellite communication technology. “We will combine our expertise in BLOS technology with PSN’s national satellite infrastructure to deliver resilient and adaptive connectivity solutions,” he stated.

Technology Synergy for Southeast Asia’s Digital Future

This collaboration not only targets current technology development but also represents a long-term investment in building the future of mobile connectivity in Southeast Asia. The system is designed to work seamlessly across various devices and platforms, ensuring stable connectivity across land, sea, and air.

With the MoU signed, both PSN and CTech have embarked on a journey toward innovation that supports national digital transformation. The partnership is expected to drive Indonesia’s satellite technology forward and unlock broader opportunities across the region.

Conclusion

The Indonesia Turkey collaboration in satellite communication marks a new chapter in the development of strategic national technology. By leveraging each other’s strengths, this synergy is expected to address Indonesia’s complex connectivity needs while reinforcing the country’s position in the global digital landscape.
