China Plans to Integrate AI into 90% of Its National Economic Activity by 2030

4 hours ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - The Chinese government has just outlined a roadmap to realize its ambition to become a global leader in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry within the next five years. This strategy is outlined in the country’s latest technology blueprint, part of the 15th Five-Year Plan to 2030.

In the Plan, Beijing positions AI as the primary foundation for the development of various future technologies, such as humanoid robots, flying cars, and brain-computer interface technology. One of the most ambitious goals is to integrate AI into 90 percent of national economic activity by 2030.

This indicates that AI will function not only as chatbots or virtual assistants, but will also become a core technology supporting the manufacturing sector, business operations, public services, and various other economic sectors.

To achieve this target, the Chinese government is preparing billions of dollars in investments across several strategic technology sectors. Development priorities include humanoid robots that can assist people in the home and workplace, as well as AI systems to automate various routine tasks.

Technologies in Various Fields

In addition, China is also focusing on developing nuclear fusion technology, quantum computing for space exploration, biomanufacturing, and sixth-generation (6G) communication networks. Low-altitude economy industries, such as flying cars and drone-based delivery services, are also receiving attention. Brain-computer interface technology, which utilizes AI to translate neural signals into digital commands, is also on the priority list.

Although encompassing various fields, almost all of these technologies have one thing in common: making AI the central control center of the system. The Chinese government appears to want AI to exist not only as a digital service, but also as the "brain" for various devices and infrastructure used by society and industry.

The implementation of this vision is beginning to be seen in China. Automotive manufacturers have equipped vehicles with AI assistants and intelligent driving features, while technology companies are introducing a variety of AI-based wearable devices.

Conclusion

The Chinese government aims to become a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) within the next five years through its 15th Five-Year Plan, which runs until 2030. AI will be the foundation of various future technologies and will be integrated into 90 percent of national economic activity, supported by significant investments in sectors such as humanoid robots, flying cars, quantum computing, 6G, and brain-computer interfaces.
