BSSN Advocates Stronger Cyber Resilience at Cyber Defense Conference 2026

17 hours ago | Digital Technology

Jakarta, INTI - Deputy for Economic Cybersecurity and Cryptography at Indonesia’s National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Slamet Aji Pamungkas, emphasized the importance of strengthening cyber resilience during the Cyber Defense Conference 2026, held in Jakarta on June 2, 2026.

The conference, themed “Digital Transformation in National Defense,” brought together government officials, cybersecurity experts, industry leaders, academics, and defense stakeholders to discuss strategies for addressing increasingly complex cyber threats in an era of rapid technological advancement.

Cybersecurity as a Foundation of Digital Transformation

Speaking at the event, Slamet Aji Pamungkas highlighted that cybersecurity has become a critical pillar in ensuring the success of Indonesia’s digital transformation agenda. As digital technologies, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and interconnected systems continue to be adopted across government, industry, and public services, safeguarding digital infrastructure has become more important than ever.

He noted that the growing integration of emerging technologies has significantly expanded the digital attack surface, creating new challenges that require a proactive and coordinated approach to cybersecurity.

According to Slamet, building a secure digital environment cannot be achieved by a single institution alone. Instead, it requires strong collaboration among government agencies, private sector organizations, academic institutions, technology providers, and the wider community.

He stressed that an adaptive and sustainable cybersecurity framework is essential to protecting critical information systems, safeguarding national strategic assets, and ensuring the continuity of digital services that support economic growth and national development.

Strengthening National Cyber Resilience Through Collaboration

Cyber Defense Conference 2026 served as an important platform for knowledge sharing, strategic dialogue, and collaboration among stakeholders seeking to address evolving global cyber threats.

The event provided opportunities for participants to exchange insights on cybersecurity best practices, emerging threat trends, digital defense strategies, and the role of advanced technologies in strengthening cyber resilience.

Discussions also highlighted the growing importance of developing local cybersecurity expertise, enhancing cyber defense capabilities, and fostering technological independence as part of Indonesia’s broader national resilience strategy.

As cyberattacks become increasingly sophisticated and target critical sectors such as government services, finance, energy, telecommunications, and defense, participants agreed that cybersecurity must be treated as a strategic national priority rather than solely a technical issue.

Building a Secure and Resilient Digital Ecosystem

Through its participation in the conference, BSSN reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s national cybersecurity ecosystem and promoting a culture of cyber awareness across all sectors.

The agency continues to encourage the development of secure, reliable, and resilient digital infrastructure capable of supporting Indonesia’s long-term digital transformation objectives.

By fostering stronger collaboration, enhancing cyber defense readiness, and investing in cybersecurity capacity building, Indonesia aims to create a trusted digital environment that can support innovation, economic growth, and national security in an increasingly interconnected world.

The Cyber Defense Conference 2026 underscored the growing recognition that cybersecurity is not only a technological necessity but also a strategic enabler of national competitiveness, digital sovereignty, and sustainable development in the digital age.

Conclusion

As digital transformation accelerates across industries and government institutions, cybersecurity has become a fundamental pillar of national resilience. Cyber Defense Conference 2026 highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration, enhancing cyber defense capabilities, and developing a secure digital ecosystem capable of addressing increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. Through continued cooperation among government, industry, academia, and technology stakeholders, Indonesia aims to build a more resilient, trusted, and future-ready digital environment.
