Boosting AI, Meta Acquires Millions of Nvidia Chips

3 months ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - Meta Platforms Inc. has announced a multi-year deal with Nvidia to supply millions of AI chips to expand its data centers. Summatized from The Verge, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the agreement includes Nvidia CPU chips Grace and next-generation Vera, as well as GPUs Blackwell and Rubin, designed specifically for large AI workloads.

This move underscores Meta’s commitment to developing robust infrastructure-as-a-service to support its large-scale AI operations. Nvidia noted that deploying Grace chips in Meta’s data centers has already demonstrated significant performance and energy efficiency improvements.

The next-generation Vera chips are scheduled for deployment in 2027 to handle more complex AI workloads across Meta’s global data centers.

The deal comes amid fierce competition in the AI chip sector. Meta had previously aimed to develop its own internal chips but faced several technical challenges and delays. As a long-term partner, Nvidia is seen as able to provide faster solutions for Meta’s intensive computing needs in its expanding network and data center infrastructure.

Apple Prepares Strategic Product Launches

Meanwhile, Apple is also preparing for a major event in early March 2026. The American tech company is scheduled to hold its Special Apple Experience on March 4, simultaneously in major cities worldwide, including New York, London, and Shanghai.

This event is considered strategic, as it may serve as the launch stage for Apple’s newest products this year.

According to circulating rumors, Apple will announce new products gradually during the first week of March. Predicted devices include a more affordable new iPhone model, update iPad and MacBook with the latest-generation chips, and other devices expanding Apple’s ecosystem for both consumer and professional segments.

The staggered announcement approach suggests a focus on hands-on experiences for media and consumers before products are widely available.

These predictions are based on event invitations and rumors, largely pointing to new iPhone models, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Apple’s latest chips, and possibly enhanced-performance iPads.

This strategy is seen as Apple’s effort to strengthen its position in the increasingly competitive consumer tech market, particularly as AI becomes a key element in the user experience.

Conclusion

As Meta doubles down on AI infrastructure through its expanded partnership with Nvidia, and Apple prepares to reinforce its consumer technology ecosystem, the technology industry continues to pivot decisively toward AI-driven innovation. The race is no longer only about devices or platforms, but about securing the computational power that will define the next generation of digital experiences.
