Jakarta, INTI - Abdul Mu'ti officially launched the 2026 education revitalization program in East Nusa Tenggara as part of the government’s effort to strengthen educational infrastructure in priority regions.

The inauguration took place at TK Kristen Kota Kupang on Monday, marking the restart of school revitalization and rehabilitation programs ranging from early childhood education to senior high school levels.

“This marks the beginning of the 2026 revitalization program, which we have officially started. In East Nusa Tenggara, many schools will be developed because the province is one of our priority regions, especially within Indonesia’s 3T areas,” Abdul Mu’ti stated.

Revitalization Focused on Remote Regions

The minister emphasized that development will be carried out gradually, including the construction of new school units to improve access to education in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions.

The initiative is also part of the government’s support for the 13-year compulsory education policy.

The symbolic launch at the kindergarten level was intended to represent the starting point of this year’s nationwide revitalization program.

Budget Allocation and Program Impact

For TK Kristen Kota Kupang, the government allocated approximately Rp863.44 million to build two classrooms, an administration room, toilets, a playground, and educational learning tools on a 1,250-square-meter site.

School principal Nortje Padaleti explained that previously two student groups had to share a single classroom during learning activities.

“We are greatly supported by the Ministry through this new building. We are very grateful because the children will soon be able to study and play freely in the new facilities,” she said.

Overall, around 809 educational institutions across East Nusa Tenggara are set to receive revitalization support in 2026, with a total budget allocation reaching Rp630.8 billion.

The program is expected to improve the quality of educational facilities while creating safer and more suitable learning environments for students throughout the province.

Conclusion

Abdul Mu'ti stated that the revitalization of 809 schools in East Nusa Tenggara reflects the government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure in Indonesia’s 3T regions. Through upgraded facilities and expanded access to education, the program is expected to create safer, more inclusive, and higher-quality learning environments for students across the province.
