Jakarta, INTI - Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) has started a process to measure demand for renewable energy from its large-scale clean energy projects in Western Australia.
The company said that it has launched an Expression of Interest (EOI) targeting commercial and industrial customers interested in purchasing renewable energy and lowering carbon emissions in their operations.
YEC Initiative is Open to Energy-Consuming Industries
The EOI will help the company understand both short-term and long-term demand for renewable power. It will also explore interest in connecting to a planned high-voltage transmission corridor in the western Pilbara.
The initiative is open to large energy consumers such as companies in mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, hydrogen production, battery development, and infrastructure operations that need reliable renewable energy.
With headquarters in Perth, YEC was established in 2023 to develop up to 3 gigawatts (GW) of wind, solar, and battery storage capacity in the Pilbara region.
The company’s main project, Maru Marnda, is planned to include up to 1 GW of wind turbines, 500 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic capacity, and battery storage. The company is also developing another project of a similar scale and a 75-MW solar plant that could potentially be expanded to 150 MW.
