Jakarta, INTI - PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk. is accelerating the implementation of a 5G network for autonomous operations in the mining sector as a strategy to strengthen its business-to-business (B2B) business.
This technology is aimed at supporting the use of autonomous electric trucks in mining areas, which are claimed to increase operational efficiency by up to 80%, especially amid high fuel prices.
The corporate segment is projected to contribute around 20% of the company's total revenue. In the first quarter of 2026, XLSMART posted total revenue of Rp11.84 trillion, representing a 38% year-on-year (YoY) growth, with normalized net profit surging 254% YoY to Rp1.37 trillion. This positive achievement was achieved through a business model transformation focused on recurring revenue.
XLSmart Director & Chief Enterprise Strategic Relationship Officer, Andrijanto Muljono, revealed that the solid growth at the beginning of this year was the result of strengthening the foundation of sustainable connectivity. These long-term service contracts provide stable monthly cash flow and minimize fluctuations from recurring projects. To date, the largest market share comes from the Internet Service Providers, mining, banking, and retail sectors.
Efficiency Effort in Mining Sector
Seeing the significant potential in the upstream sector, XLSmart is now targeting mining area digitization as a new growth engine. The corporation is capitalizing on the industry's shift to autonomous electric vehicles due to the high cost of fossil fuels.
"So, along the hauling road, there will be 5G antennas to operate these autonomous trucks. The efficiency achieved with this system can reach 80%," said Andrijanto.
He explained that the company is currently conducting proof of concept (POC) tests in several mining areas in Sumatra and Kalimantan. XLSMART is also introducing the ESTA platform to support real-time operational management and a local sovereign cloud to safeguard corporate and government data.
