UNJ Students Develop Interactive Logic Circuit Simulation Application

7 months ago | Digital Technology

Jakarta, INTI – At Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), a student has created an innovative solution to help understand complex electrical engineering topics. Muhammad Ali Fajri from the Electrical Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, developed a learning application for Android and Web that allows students to design and test logic circuits interactively. This innovation addresses the limitations of laboratory facilities and the difficulty of grasping abstract theories in class.

Key Features of the Application

The application offers various features to support effective learning:

  • Interactive Logic Gate Simulation
Students can test the outputs of various input combinations in real-time, including AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, XOR, and XNOR gates.
  • Integration of Theory and Practice
Each simulation is accompanied by conceptual explanations to strengthen understanding.
  • Flexible Access
The Android version enables mobile learning, while the Web version can be accessed directly via a browser without installation.
  • Responsive Web Interface
Users can study anytime and anywhere, using either a smartphone or laptop, without technical obstacles.

Positive Impact on Campus

Trials of the application at UNJ have shown encouraging results. Students grasp the material faster, engage in more independent learning, and are no longer entirely dependent on laboratory sessions. “With this simulation, students can experiment without the risk of damaging equipment. They become more confident and creative,” said Nur Hanifah Yuninda, ST, M.T., the faculty advisor leading the development team.

Plans for Development and Distribution

Under the guidance of academic advisors Dr. Aris Sunawar, S.Pd., M.T., and Mochammad Dajohar, ST., M.Sc., the development team plans to expand the distribution of the application through Google Play Store and other digital platforms. The goal is for other educational institutions to adopt this technology-based learning approach.

Conclusion

The logic circuit simulation application developed by UNJ students demonstrates how digital technology can enhance technical education. With a more visual, interactive, and flexible approach, learning logic circuits is now easier to access, fostering creativity and independence among students.
