Jakarta, INTI – This year’s Independence Day Carnival celebrating Indonesia’s 80th anniversary in Jakarta became even more vibrant with the presence of the Kemkomdigi Carnival Truck. The decorated vehicle traveled the route from Lapangan Silang Monumen Nasional to the Semanggi area, carrying the theme “Digital Transformation, Realizing an Advanced Indonesia”, visually showcasing the nation’s progress in information technology.
Giant Phone and AI Robot Steal the Spotlight
The truck captivated spectators with a giant phone at the front displaying educational messages about child protection in the digital space, in line with Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 (PP TUNAS). In addition, the truck featured digital ornaments including a miniature 4G BTS, the Republic of Indonesia Satellite (SATRIA-1), and an AI-powered robot walking alongside the parade, attracting the attention of audiences of all ages.
Digitalization as Public Education and Awareness
Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, emphasized that Kemkomdigi’s participation was not merely ceremonial decoration. “Through the Kemkomdigi Carnival Truck, we want to show that digital transformation is not just a technological innovation, but a shared journey toward a more advanced, inclusive, and equitable Indonesia,” she said at Lapangan Silang Monas, Sunday, 17, 08, 2025.
In addition to technology, the truck also showcased visual representations of national priority programs, including Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), Food and Energy Self-Sufficiency, Free Health Checkups (CKG), People’s Schools, Red and White Cooperatives, and 3 Million Subsidized Homes. These representations were reinforced by the presence of young professionals on the truck, from young chefs, farmers, to healthcare workers.
Digital Transformation for People’s Welfare
The participation of young people highlighted that digitalization only holds meaning if it benefits the real welfare of society. Meutya stressed, “Independence has given us the space to be sovereign, and digital transformation gives us the opportunity to progress together. On the occasion of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, let us make digitalization the pathway toward a Golden Indonesia 2045.”
Conclusion:
The Kemkomdigi Carnival Truck, featuring a giant phone, AI robot, and information technology displays, demonstrates that Indonesia’s digital transformation is not just about technological innovation but also serves as a tool for public education and societal welfare. This parade shows that independence and digitalization go hand in hand in realizing a progressive and inclusive Indonesia.
