5 hours ago | Data Center

Jakarta, INTI - ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has expanded its funding platform in Indonesia to Rp8.8 trillion (approximately US$500 million). This funding will be used to support the development of the STT Jakarta data center campus, including the STT Jakarta 3 project.

This funding expansion also marks the issuance of STT GDC's first green term loan tranche in Indonesia. This financing scheme includes a dual-currency facility, rupiah and US dollar, to increase funding flexibility.

STT GDC Indonesia Country Head, Hendrikus Gozali, stated that this step is part of the company's long-term strategy to strengthen digital infrastructure in Indonesia.

"This transaction allows us to support the expansion of the STT Jakarta campus while introducing our first green financing in Indonesia. This reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable digital infrastructure development," he said in an official statement on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Part of the green term loan funds will be allocated for the construction of STT Jakarta 3 in Cikarang, Bekasi. This facility is part of the STT Jakarta Campus, which is targeted to have a capacity of over 360 megawatts (MW) once fully operational.

The Data Center’s System

The data center is designed to support next-generation computing needs, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance computing. STT Jakarta 3 also utilizes advanced liquid cooling and air conditioning technology to accommodate high-density workloads.

In terms of sustainability, the facility is targeting a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.30 and LEED Gold certification. Furthermore, the cooling system used is designed to have a very low global warming potential (GWP).

This dual-currency financing structure also provides room for further expansion without the need for structural renegotiations. This is considered crucial to accommodate the growing demand for data centers.

The funding is supported by several banks, namely Bank OCBC NISP, Bank HSBC Indonesia, and Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI). OCBC also acts as the primary coordinator for this facility, including as the green coordinator.
