Jakarta, INTI - SQUAD NUSANTARA Madiun Raya held a peaceful public action at the Madiun Regency Legislative Council (DPRD) office on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The group presented two main demands: accelerating the passage of the Asset Forfeiture Bill and urging the Madiun Regency Government to immediately establish regulations governing the installation and management of fiber optic cables.
The demonstration, attended by members of SQUAD NUSANTARA Madiun Raya, proceeded in an orderly and peaceful manner. Before entering the DPRD building for a public hearing, participants sang the Indonesian national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” and read out their two demands in front of hundreds of law enforcement officers deployed to secure the demonstration.
SQUAD NUSANTARA Madiun Raya Chairman Isnandar Hariadi emphasized that the action was not intended to express hostility toward the government or legislative institutions. He said the group came to convey public concerns while reminding authorities of issues affecting the community.
“We did not come with hatred; we came with aspirations. We did not come to cause damage, but to remind the government. What we bring is not hatred, but our concern for the people of Madiun Regency,” Isnandar said.
SQUAD NUSANTARA Calls for Asset Forfeiture Reform
In its first demand, SQUAD NUSANTARA called for the Asset Forfeiture Bill to be accelerated. The group argued that efforts to combat corruption should go beyond imprisoning perpetrators.
“We believe fighting corruption is not enough by simply imprisoning those responsible. The state must be able to confiscate and recover assets obtained through corruption for the benefit of the people,” Isnandar said.
Calls for Clear Fiber Optic Cable Regulations
The group also raised concerns about the condition of fiber optic cables in several parts of Madiun Regency. It called on the DPRD and local government to establish clear regulations governing the installation and management of fiber optic infrastructure.
Isnandar said the group had identified several fiber optic cables hanging close to the ground in parts of Madiun Regency. Such conditions, he argued, could pose safety and accessibility risks to road users.
“In addition to bringing our concerns about the Asset Forfeiture Bill, we are also asking the Madiun Regency DPRD to establish regulations governing fiber optic cables,” he said.
Madiun Regency DPRD Chairman Fery Sudarsono said the council had accepted the aspirations submitted by SQUAD NUSANTARA Madiun Raya. Regarding the Asset Forfeiture Bill, the DPRD plans to forward the group’s demands to the national parliament (DPR RI) and central government.
“We at the Madiun Regency DPRD welcome the aspirations expressed by SQUAD NUSANTARA. We agree that the Asset Forfeiture Bill is important for justice. We will immediately forward these aspirations to the DPR RI and the central government as a form of support from the Madiun Regency DPRD,” Fery said.
Regarding fiber optic cable management, Fery said the DPRD would invite relevant government agencies and service providers to discuss the issue together.
“Infrastructure should not end up compromising public safety. The DPRD is ready to oversee the process so that clear regulations can be established in Madiun Regency,” he said.
Following the acceptance of their two demands, SQUAD NUSANTARA Madiun Raya expressed hope that the DPRD and Madiun Regency Government would take concrete follow-up measures. The group hopes the efforts will contribute to creating a safer, more orderly, transparent, and people-oriented Madiun Regency.
Conclusion
The peaceful action by SQUAD NUSANTARA Madiun Raya highlights public concerns over both stronger asset recovery measures and better management of telecommunications infrastructure. The Madiun Regency DPRD’s commitment to forward the asset forfeiture demand and discuss fiber optic cable regulations provides a pathway for further action.
Effective follow-up from local and central authorities will be important to ensure that the two issues are addressed through clear regulations and concrete measures, supporting a safer, more orderly, and transparent environment for the people of Madiun.
