Jakarta, INTI - Swiss German University (SGU) is strengthening its efforts to prepare adaptable human resources for the rapidly evolving technology landscape through master’s education that connects academic competencies with the needs of the professional world.
SGU Rector Assoc. Prof. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo said master’s education plays an important role in continuous competency development as technology and professional environments continue to evolve.
“Master’s education is an important part of continuous competency development. Amid rapid technological change and an increasingly dynamic professional environment, students need not only strong knowledge but also the ability to adapt, think strategically, and continue learning,” said Samuel.
He added that SGU’s learning experiences are designed to equip students with the capabilities needed to navigate emerging changes and challenges.
Aligning Education with Professional Needs
SGU’s master’s education approach goes beyond developing academic knowledge and technical expertise. It also emphasizes contextual understanding, critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to connect professional expertise with real-world needs.
One of these efforts was demonstrated through the SGU Master Orientation Day 2026, held in a hybrid format in Tangerang on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The event featured National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) Head Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Nugroho Sulistyo Budi as a seminar speaker.
Students gained insights into strategic issues including cybersecurity, emerging digital threats, digital transformation, workforce readiness, and the development of artificial intelligence (AI).
SGU Offers Nine Master’s Program Concentrations
SGU currently offers nine master’s program concentrations under the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) and the Faculty of Business and Communication (FBC).
The programs cover areas including engineering, information technology, business, and management. SGU also offers a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway for professionals with prior work experience and learning to pursue a master’s degree.
SGU recognizes that rapid technological advancement and changing competency requirements across industries are making workforce readiness increasingly important.
Through the SGU Master Orientation Day 2026, students were also encouraged to understand the connections between technological development, cybersecurity, workforce readiness, and strategic challenges that could shape the professional landscape in the future.
