NVIDIA and ITB Empower Students to Become AI Developers and Strengthen Digital Talent Through RTX AI PC Day

6 hours ago | Startups & Digital Talent

Jakarta, INTI - NVIDIA and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) are promoting artificial intelligence (AI) talent development through RTX AI PC Day in Bandung, aiming to strengthen students' ability to create technology-driven innovations.

The initiative seeks to prepare students for the rapid advancement of AI while equipping them with skills relevant to industry needs.

NVIDIA Indonesia Country Consumer Business Lead Adrian Lesmono said collaboration between industry and higher education is essential to accelerating AI innovation and strengthening the capabilities of younger generations.

NVIDIA aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by providing technological support and access to AI computing resources for learning, experimentation, and student innovation.

“NVIDIA serves as a catalyst connecting industry and education to accelerate AI innovation. Through technology support and access to AI computing, we encourage students to experiment, develop their skills, and transform from users into creators of AI solutions,” Adrian said in Bandung on Wednesday.

NVIDIA Encourages Students to Become AI Solution Developers

RTX AI PC Day provides a platform for students, academics, and technology enthusiasts to explore AI developments and understand their applications across various sectors.

The technologies introduced cover applications in education, creative industries, productivity enhancement, and digital gaming.

Through the initiative, NVIDIA aims to broaden students' understanding of AI's potential and encourage them to develop practical innovations using the technology.

Adrian emphasized that AI should not be viewed as a shortcut that replaces scientific understanding, but as a tool that enhances human capabilities in solving problems.

He noted that students need to develop technical expertise and creative thinking skills rather than relying solely on existing technologies.

NVIDIA hopes students will evolve from technology users into AI developers who can contribute to society and industry.

“We want to encourage more students to become AI builders capable of creating innovations that are relevant to society and industry,” he said.

ITB Highlights Critical Thinking Skills in the AI Era

Meanwhile, ITB Acting Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Edwan Kardena, said AI has advanced rapidly over the past two years, bringing significant changes to higher education.

According to Edwan, universities must adapt their learning systems to ensure AI benefits both students and lecturers.

These adjustments are necessary to ensure AI supports academic activities without undermining students' critical thinking, understanding, and independent learning abilities.

“AI is an inevitable development for both students and lecturers. Universities must adapt to ensure the technology supports learning without diminishing students' critical thinking abilities,” Edwan said.

He emphasized that students need not only broad and in-depth knowledge but also an understanding of the learning process itself.

In addition to academic capabilities, students should develop soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and language proficiency to improve their readiness for professional careers.

AI advancements also require lecturers to adjust teaching methods and assessment systems to keep pace with technological changes and evolving educational needs.

University education and assessments should focus not only on final results but also on students' ability to understand problems, analyze information, and develop independent solutions.

These adjustments are important to ensure AI adoption does not undermine the thinking and analytical skills that are fundamental to higher education.

ITB Develops AI Usage Guidelines for Campus Activities

As AI becomes more widely used in academic activities, ITB is developing internal regulations governing its use across campus.

The guidelines are intended to help the university community use AI to support education and research responsibly.

The regulations also aim to ensure AI is used appropriately, equitably, and effectively without compromising the quality of learning.

“ITB is developing internal regulations on AI use across campus to ensure the technology is used responsibly, equitably, and effectively in support of education and research,” Edwan said.

Through educational adjustments and collaboration with technology companies such as NVIDIA, ITB aims to prepare students to embrace AI advancements while maintaining critical thinking and academic independence.

Conclusion

NVIDIA and ITB are strengthening AI talent development by providing students with access to AI computing technology while emphasizing critical thinking and responsible AI use. The collaboration aims to prepare future professionals to develop innovative AI solutions for industry and society.
