KORIKA Hosts AIIS 2026 in Bali to Discuss Indonesia’s AI Sovereignty and Talent Development

6 hours ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - The Artificial Intelligence Research and Innovation Collaboration (KORIKA) will host the 6th Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit (AIIS) 2026 at the Bali Beach Convention Center and the United in Diversity (UID) Bali Campus in Sanur on October 21–22, 2026.

Under the theme “Sovereign AI for Indonesia 2045,” the summit will take place as part of Bali Tech Week 2026, with support from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (KOMDIGI) and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

AIIS 2026 is designed to be more than a conventional technology conference. It will serve as a curated executive forum bringing together approximately 100–150 decision-makers from government, industry, academia, investment, and international partnerships, alongside an estimated 1,000 online participants from across Indonesia.

For the first time, AIIS will specifically focus on three sectors considered critical to moving AI from discussion to trusted implementation: banking and financial services, telecommunications, and digital infrastructure. These sectors underpin customer trust, digital operational security, financial inclusion, identity systems, data, computing, and national connectivity.

AI Sovereignty: Building National Capabilities Through Collaboration

The theme “Sovereign AI for Indonesia 2045” frames AI sovereignty as the development of national capabilities through collaboration. Rather than pursuing isolation, AI sovereignty means ensuring that Indonesia has the knowledge, talent, infrastructure, governance frameworks, institutions, and partnerships needed to determine how AI is developed and deployed in line with national priorities.

AIIS 2026 will examine four key pillars of Indonesia’s AI ecosystem: Capable, which emphasizes talent development, research, and industrial implementation; Trusted, which focuses on safety, governance, and transparency; Connected, which promotes collaboration among government, businesses, academia, investors, and communities; and Impactful, which highlights sector-specific applications that improve services, productivity, inclusion, and competitiveness.

Three National Launches to Advance Indonesia’s AI Ecosystem

The first day of AIIS 2026 will feature three launches intended to mark important milestones in Indonesia’s AI ecosystem.

The first is AI.ID, a strategic identity and meeting point for Indonesia’s AI ecosystem. The initiative will be launched by the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager (PANDI) in collaboration with the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision under KOMDIGI.

The second initiative, KORIKA Claw, focuses on AI agent management and a library of Indonesian-language skill templates. It aims to demonstrate how AI can move beyond conceptual discussions toward accessible, locally relevant applications. The initiative will be presented through a minimum viable product (MVP) demonstration by Dr. Muhammad Ghifary, KORIKA’s Vice President of Innovation and Impact, and Oskar Riandi, KORIKA’s Secretary-General.

The third launch is KORIKA Token, a collaborative initiative between KORIKA and AI Capital Indonesia. It will be introduced by Prof. Niclas Adler, President Director of AI Capital Indonesia, as part of broader efforts to strengthen collaboration within Indonesia’s AI ecosystem.

Through these initiatives, AIIS 2026 aims to accelerate the development of Indonesia’s AI capabilities, strengthen cross-sector collaboration, and support the country’s long-term ambition to build a sovereign, trusted, and impactful AI ecosystem by 2045.

Conclusion

AIIS 2026 aims to strengthen Indonesia’s AI ecosystem by advancing national capabilities, developing local talent, and fostering collaboration across government, industry, and academia. Through its focus on AI sovereignty, trusted implementation, and strategic initiatives, the summit supports Indonesia’s ambition to build a competitive and sustainable AI ecosystem toward 2045.
