Jakarta, INTI - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) emphasized that strengthening digital talent is a key factor in determining Indonesia's position amidst increasingly fierce global technological competition.
The government considers the quality of human resources to be crucial in facing changes in the digital industry structure, including the development of artificial intelligence and the transformation of the technology ecosystem.
Deputy Minister Nezar Patria stated that global technological competition no longer relies solely on infrastructure, but also on mastery of talent and innovation capabilities.
This situation demands that Indonesia strengthen its human resource capacity so that it becomes not only a user of technology but also part of the global technology development value chain.
"Digital talent is a determining factor. With strong human capabilities, we can overcome infrastructure limitations and increase our competitiveness," said Nezar Patria in a statement on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Nezar Patria explained that the current development of digital technology is characterized by rapid global competition, including at the computing infrastructure and artificial intelligence levels.
In this context, Indonesia still faces challenges in strengthening its position in the global technology supply chain. According to Nezra, strengthening digital talent is key to increasing national capacity to face these changes.
"Indonesia must move beyond being merely a user of technology. We need to enter the creation process, not just consumption," he said.

This program aims to expand access to digital competency development more equitably.
"Campuses are the entry point for developing digital talent that is ready to meet future industry needs," said Nezra Patria.
He also emphasized that strengthening digital talent not only targets technical aspects but also an understanding of global dynamics, including the geopolitical aspects of technology and the rapidly changing structure of the digital economy.
Through this approach, Kemkomdigi has positioned digital talent development as a key part of its national strategy to strengthen Indonesia's competitiveness in the ever-evolving global technology ecosystem.
