Moratelindo and MyRepublic Merge to Strengthen Indonesia’s Digital Ecosystem

2 days ago | Network Infrastructure

Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia’s home internet industry enters a new phase following the merger of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Tbk. (Moratelindo) and PT Eka Mas Republik (MyRepublic), resulting in PT Ekamas Mora Republik Tbk. (MoraRepublic).

MoraRepublic's Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer, Resi Y. Bramani, stated that the merger aims to build a synergic digital ecosystem, from backbone infrastructure to customer services. He said that the synergy will build faster and more stable service quality and expand reach, as well as open bigger opportunities for the company as a whole.

The integration of Moratelindo's backbone infrastructure and MyRepublic's fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services is expected to result in more optimal and reliable services with broader coverage. Resi also emphasized that there will be no price changes in the near future as the company focuses on improving quality and customer experience.

Through an end-to-end strategy, MoraRepublic optimizes infrastructure from the backbone, data center, to the last mile as a key differentiator in the market. The company also strengthens the value of its services by developing additional products and implementing cross-selling strategies. Resi added that this is to provide a comprehensive digital experience to customers.

Before the merger, which took effect on April 22, 2026, Moratelindo had nearly 300,000 retail customers, 17,000 enterprise customers, and nearly 1 million homepasses. MyRepublic had approximately 1.5 million retail customers and nearly 8.7 million homepasses. After the merger, MoraRepublic managed more than 1.8 million retail customers and more than 9.7 million homepasses.

XL and Telkom on Consolidation

PT XLSmart Telecom Sejahtera Tbk. believes that consolidation in the telecommunications industry is a natural process to increase efficiency and competitiveness.

"Mergers are fundamentally aimed at building a healthier, more competitive, and more sustainable industry," said Reza Mirza, GH Corporate Communication and Sustainability XLSmart.

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. expressed a similar view. Seno Soemadji, Director of Strategic Business Development and Portfolio, stated that consolidation is a natural phase in the capital-intensive industry.

"Consolidation will drive efficiency, strengthen business scale, and improve overall service quality," he said. He added that Telkom is ready to adapt and seize opportunities supported by extensive infrastructure and integrated services.

Conclusion

PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Tbk. and PT Eka Mas Republik have merged to form PT Ekamas Mora Republik Tbk. (MoraRepublic) to strengthen the digital ecosystem with faster and more stable services. This consolidation does not change service prices but focuses on improving quality and customer experience through an end-to-end strategy and the development of additional services. Consolidation in the telecommunications industry is seen as a natural step to increase competitiveness and efficiency, with more mergers expected in the future to strengthen market positions.
