3 days ago | Startups & Digital Talent

Jakarta, INTI – Microsoft Indonesia has officially announced the return of its certified AI training program, “Microsoft Elevate.” This initiative comes as a response to the urgent need for human resource development in the rapidly evolving era of artificial intelligence. Through this program, Microsoft aims to train 500,000 certified AI talents across Indonesia by 2026, with a focus on educators, non-profit leaders, and community changemakers. The effort is expected to create the “heroes of today” individuals capable of leveraging AI technology to solve various social and economic challenges within their communities.

Program Transformation: From elevAIte to Microsoft Elevate

Previously known as elevAIte Indonesia, the program has now evolved into Microsoft Elevate in its second year. This transformation represents not just a change of name, but a strengthening of its learning concept and cross-sector collaboration.
“Our focus is to help individuals and organizations apply AI skills to solve real-world challenges and drive meaningful transformation in their communities,” said Arief Suseno, Elevate Skills Director at Microsoft Indonesia, in a press statement in Jakarta.

Microsoft Elevate is now designed with a composition of 40 percent theory and 60 percent practical learning, utilizing Microsoft’s ecosystem tools such as Copilot, Minecraft Education, and other supporting platforms. This approach aims to ensure participants not only understand AI conceptually but are also able to apply AI technologies directly in real-life scenarios.

Three Core Pillars: Education, Community, and Government

To achieve its ambitious target of 500,000 AI talents, Microsoft Elevate is built upon three main pillars:

1. Education: Delivering innovative AI-based solutions for the education sector.

2. Community Empowerment: Equipping communities with digital skills to thrive in the AI-driven economy.

3. Government: Supporting data-driven decision-making in the public sector through training and advocacy programs.

These three pillars will be implemented through strategic collaboration between Microsoft and various educational institutions, social organizations, and digital communities across Indonesia, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to AI learning opportunities nationwide.

Government Support: Digital Talent for a Golden Indonesia

This initiative has received strong support from the Indonesian government. Boni Pudjianto, Head of Human Resource Development at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), expressed his appreciation for the collaboration.
“We are very enthusiastic about supporting this partnership with Microsoft Elevate, so that the nation’s best talents can continue to grow and bring positive impact to society,” said Boni.

The collaboration between the private sector and government is expected to become a crucial foundation for accelerating national digital transformation, nurturing a technology-driven generation, and achieving the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 through mastery of artificial intelligence.

Conclusion

The launch of Microsoft Elevate 2025 marks a significant milestone in building an AI learning ecosystem in Indonesia. With the spirit of Heroes’ Day and a vision to shape the future generation of talents, this initiative is not merely about technology it is about empowering people through knowledge and collaboration. Microsoft demonstrates that being a hero in the digital era is not about bearing arms, but about mastering artificial intelligence for the nation’s advancement.
