Jakarta, INTI - The Indonesian Renewable Energy Society (METI) is pushing to accelerate investment and the implementation of new, renewable energy and energy conservation (EBTKE) projects through IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026, taking place in Jakarta from September 2–4.
METI Chairman Norman Ginting said the forum serves as a key platform to accelerate EBTKE projects, particularly renewable energy developments that are entering the construction and operational stages.
“We are creating a meeting point for project developers, technology providers, and policymakers to accelerate the realization of these projects,” Norman said in Jakarta on Monday.
IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 is organized by METI in collaboration with the Indonesian Energy Conservation and Efficiency Society (MASKEEI), with support from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
Driving Clean Energy Investment Through Collaboration and Innovation
The forum is designed to fast-track clean energy projects, expand access to green investment, and strengthen national energy resilience through regional collaboration and technological innovation.
METI Secretary General and Chair of the IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 Organizing Committee Elvi Nasution highlighted the importance of connecting project developers with national and international financial institutions to broaden access to funding for EBTKE projects.
Meanwhile, MASKEEI Chairman Andhika Prastawa emphasized that energy conservation and efficiency are critical components of strengthening national energy resilience and accelerating Indonesia’s energy transition.
“We are promoting stronger implementation of energy conservation and efficiency through various innovative initiatives, including the development of energy efficiency-as-a-service schemes. These efforts aim to raise awareness, expand the adoption of energy-saving technologies, and optimize energy use across industrial and commercial sectors,” he said.
Strengthening Energy Resilience Through Indonesia’s Clean Energy Transition
Norman reaffirmed METI’s commitment to continuing its role as a strategic government partner in advancing renewable energy development in a targeted and impactful manner.
“METI will continue to strengthen its role as a strategic partner of the government in accelerating Indonesia’s energy transition in a focused and meaningful way,” Norman said.
Norman, who also serves as Project & Operations Director at Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE), said METI is ready to strengthen cross-sector collaboration among stakeholders to support Indonesia’s clean energy agenda.
The energy transition, he noted, is not only about reducing emissions but also represents an opportunity to strengthen energy independence and drive new economic growth powered by clean energy.
“The development of new and renewable energy must become a foundation for Indonesia’s energy resilience and independence, while creating new opportunities for economic growth, green jobs, and stronger national industrial and technological capabilities,” Norman said.
METI aims for these collaborative efforts to accelerate a range of national renewable energy initiatives, including the development of 100 GW of solar power capacity, E20 bioethanol, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), geothermal energy, biomass, cofiring, and waste-to-energy projects.
These clean energy developments are expected to strengthen national energy resilience while reducing Indonesia’s reliance on fossil fuels.
