Jakarta, INTI - Jakarta Teacher and Education Personnel Center (BGTK) is strengthening educational collaboration and innovation through the Jakarta Teacher Festival 2026, which involves teacher communities from across the capital city.
Festival Held Across Six Locations Including Thousand Islands
The Jakarta Teacher Festival 2026 brings together educators from teacher organizations such as MGMP, MKKS, and KKG throughout Jakarta. The festival’s main events are being held simultaneously at six different locations, including the Thousand Islands region.
Head of BGTK Jakarta, Erfan Agus Munif, stated that the festival serves as both a celebration of educational innovation and a collaborative initiative between BGTK and teacher communities.
According to him, the program is designed to encourage the development of an organic growth ecosystem for educators. The festival also provides teachers with opportunities to improve their competencies through academic discussions and the exchange of teaching experiences.
“The selection of six locations, including the Thousand Islands, reflects our spirit of inclusivity so that the positive energy of the festival can be experienced by all teachers in Jakarta without exception,” said Erfan.
He emphasized that teachers in both mainland and island areas are educational heroes who continue to innovate in shaping the nation’s future.
BGTK Launches AI Literacy Program for 50,000 Teachers
During the opening session, BGTK Jakarta and its partners introduced several strategic initiatives in the education sector.
One of the key programs launched was the Jakarta Teacher Competency Assessment 2026, which is scheduled to begin in June 2026. BGTK also introduced a mandatory reading movement for teachers and students across Jakarta.
In addition, BGTK launched an artificial intelligence (AI) literacy training and certification program targeting 50,000 teachers in Jakarta through collaboration with Google and the Jakarta Education Agency.
The festival also recognized winners of the “Jakarta Teachers Create” and “Teachers Write Letters to the Minister” competitions.
Throughout the event, educators participated in workshops, exhibitions showcasing innovative learning methods, and inspiration-sharing sessions among teachers. A total of 60 best-practice projects from teachers, principals, and school supervisors were presented in depth.
The festival also featured 325 poster presentations highlighting innovative learning ideas developed by educators across Jakarta.
BGTK hopes the Jakarta Teacher Festival will become an annual event that motivates educators to adapt to technological advancements and curriculum changes while supporting the development of a globally competitive education ecosystem in Jakarta.
