Jakarta, INTI - The Executive Board of the Indonesian Robotics Association (PRSI) held a strategic meeting and discussion with Indonesia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs (Kemenpora) at the ministry’s headquarters on May 26, 2026. The meeting focused on strengthening the role of young people in responding to technological advancements through positive, creative, and innovation-driven activities centered on robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).
The discussion also formed part of broader efforts to enhance the capacity, competitiveness, and technological readiness of Indonesia’s youth as the country works toward its Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.
The delegation was received by Deputy for Youth Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Hendro Wicaksono. Representing PRSI were Chairman Wahyu Hidayat, Vice Secretary General Muhamad Ied, Head of Partnerships and Cooperation Riksa Rifqi Fuadi, Event and Competition Coordinator Ipan Zulfikri, and Secretariat Officer Almer Barra Muhammad.
Indonesia Robotics Olympiad 2026 Takes Center Stage
One of the key topics discussed during the meeting was the preparation of the Indonesia Robotics Olympiad 2026, a national robotics competition scheduled to take place in October 2026.
The event is expected to bring together students from schools and universities across Indonesia, providing a platform for participants to showcase their skills, creativity, and technological innovations in robotics and AI.
Beyond the competition itself, both parties emphasized the importance of empowering young people to actively participate in the development of emerging technologies. PRSI believes that Indonesia’s younger generation will play a strategic role in navigating global technological transformation while maximizing the opportunities presented by the country’s demographic bonus.
PRSI Chairman Wahyu Hidayat stated that the Indonesia Robotics Olympiad is designed to foster innovation, creativity, and technological excellence among young Indonesians.
“Through the Indonesia Robotics Olympiad 2026, we aim to provide a platform where young Indonesians can develop their capabilities in robotics and artificial intelligence. Today’s youth must become adaptive, innovative, and technologically skilled individuals who are ready to compete globally and contribute to Indonesia’s technological advancement,” Wahyu said.
Government Support for Future Technology Talent
Deputy for Youth Services Hendro Wicaksono expressed the ministry’s support for the initiative, highlighting its potential to inspire and prepare the next generation of technology leaders.
“We fully support the implementation of the Indonesia Robotics Olympiad 2026. We hope this event will serve as a positive platform for young Indonesians to strengthen their creativity, innovation, and expertise in robotics and AI. As technological development continues to accelerate worldwide, Indonesian youth must be equipped to become adaptive, competitive, and highly capable individuals,” Hendro said.
He added that the competition has the potential to evolve into an annual national agenda that contributes meaningfully to the development of Indonesia’s future human capital.
The strategic dialogue is expected to further strengthen collaboration between PRSI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in promoting educational, innovative, and competitive robotics initiatives.
Through this partnership, both organizations aim to encourage greater youth participation in science and technology while nurturing a new generation of innovators capable of contributing to Indonesia’s technological progress and long-term economic development.
By creating opportunities for young people to explore robotics, AI, and emerging technologies, the Indonesia Robotics Olympiad 2026 is expected to play an important role in developing future-ready talent and supporting Indonesia’s ambition to become a globally competitive innovation-driven nation by 2045.
Conclusion
The Indonesia Robotics Olympiad 2026 reflects a growing commitment to preparing young Indonesians for a future driven by robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies. Through collaboration between PRSI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the initiative is expected to foster innovation, strengthen digital and engineering skills, and nurture a new generation of technology talent.
