Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, visited Telkom Indonesia’s exhibition area during Bali Tech Week (BTW) 2026 at the Bali Beach Convention Center on Monday, October 19, 2026.
During the visit, Meutya reviewed data center infrastructure being developed by Telkom’s subsidiary, NeutraDC, to support Indonesia’s growing artificial intelligence (AI) requirements.
AI-ready data center infrastructure is an important component of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem development, as the growing use of data and AI requires sufficient computing capacity and reliable connectivity.
In response to these needs, Telkom Network Director Budi Satria Dharma Purba reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening its digital infrastructure capabilities.
“Indonesia has the potential to become one of the key growth centers for digital infrastructure and AI in the Asia-Pacific region,” Budi said.
He added, “To support this ambition, TelkomGroup, through NeutraDC, remains committed to strengthening digital infrastructure readiness, including through the integration of networks, data centers, cloud services, and AI, to anticipate the growing demand for computing capacity in the future.”
The infrastructure developed by NeutraDC is expected to help Indonesia expand its role in the global technology ecosystem, moving beyond being merely a technology user toward becoming an active contributor to its development.
Meanwhile, NeutraDC Group CEO Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin emphasized the importance of domestic data center infrastructure in strengthening Indonesia’s digital sovereignty, particularly as demand for data processing and computing continues to increase.
“Digital sovereignty requires infrastructure that enables Indonesia to independently manage and develop its digital needs. Data centers are a fundamental pillar of this ecosystem, including in supporting AI development,” Rakhmad said.
He added that infrastructure readiness, computing capacity, and connectivity must continue to improve so Indonesia can leverage technological advancements to drive innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of its domestic industries.
Sovereign Tech Summit Highlights Digital Sovereignty and Enterprise AI Adoption
Beyond the ministerial visit, Bali Tech Week 2026 served as a meeting platform for government representatives, industry players, investors, and technology stakeholders to discuss developments in connectivity, digital infrastructure, AI, and the digital economy.
One of the key events was the Sovereign Tech Summit 2026 by Telkom Indonesia, held on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
The forum explored the development of sovereign digital infrastructure, including Indonesia’s readiness to support data utilization, AI adoption, and business requirements.
NeutraDC Vice President of Sales and Marketing Erik Orbandi also participated as a panelist in a discussion titled Accelerating Enterprise Adoption of Sovereign Digital Infrastructure, alongside other industry representatives.
The discussion highlighted businesses’ growing need for reliable technology infrastructure to support growth, leverage data, and adopt AI. Infrastructure aligned with national requirements is an important factor in strengthening Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.
Through its participation in Bali Tech Week 2026, NeutraDC and Telkom reaffirmed their roles in developing data center infrastructure to meet Indonesia’s expanding data processing and AI needs.
