Minimax Partners with Folago to Expand AI Distribution in Indonesia

5 hours ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - PT Folago Global Nusantara Tbk (IDX: IRSX) and MiniMax have formalized a strategic partnership, appointing Folago as MiniMax’s strategic distributor in Indonesia through a signing ceremony held in Shanghai.

The agreement follows Folago’s recent partnership with YouTube, signed on October 23, 2026, and marks another step in the company’s expansion into artificial intelligence and digital content production.

Under the partnership, IRSX becomes MiniMax’s official strategic partner and sole distributor in Indonesia, with authorization to resell MiniMax AI tokens to users within its ecosystem. Folago will also gain access to MiniMax’s technology to strengthen its short-form drama production capabilities.

“This partnership is an important step for Folago in bringing world-class AI technology to creators, businesses, and the wider Indonesian public. We see significant opportunities to broaden access to AI through our role as an AI Token Factory in Indonesia,” said Folago President Director Subioto Jingga, according to a company press release on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

The signing ceremony, titled “Appointment Strategic Partnership,” took place in Shanghai. The agreement was signed by Subioto Jingga and Hu WeiQi, Head of MiniMax B2B Business.

Folago Expands Its AI Distribution Network

The appointment builds on Folago’s recent expansion into AI-powered filmmaking and micro-drama production. With the new agreement, the company aims to establish a broader distribution channel for MiniMax services in Indonesia.

MiniMax tokens will be resold through Folago’s existing ecosystem, which the company says includes more than 250,000 digital creators and 125,000 e-commerce affiliates across Indonesia. This network provides a potential distribution channel for reaching creators, businesses, and other users seeking access to AI services.

Beyond distribution rights, Folago can also use MiniMax technology within its own business ecosystem, including to accelerate the production of short-form dramas. These vertical entertainment productions typically feature episodes lasting between one and three minutes.

Through this partnership, Folago plans to develop its position as an AI Token Factory in Indonesia. AI tokens are units used to measure consumption of AI services. When creators, businesses, or developers use AI models to generate text, audio, images, or videos, their usage is calculated and charged in tokens.

As an authorized distributor, Folago aims to provide Indonesian users with a more accessible way to use global AI services.

The MiniMax partnership forms the foundation of this strategy. IRSX plans to work with additional AI providers, potentially allowing its ecosystem to offer multiple AI services through a single distribution channel and positioning Folago as a major distributor of AI tokens in Indonesia.

Its existing network of creators, e-commerce affiliates, and businesses provides an initial platform for expanding its reach.

“Indonesia is a dynamic market with a strong creator community. We are pleased to partner with Folago as MiniMax’s strategic partner and sole distributor in Indonesia, and we hope this collaboration will help more creators and businesses benefit from MiniMax technology,” said Hu WeiQi, Head of MiniMax B2B Business.

MiniMax Strengthens Its AI Technology Offering

Founded in Shanghai in December 2021, MiniMax is an artificial intelligence company established by Yan Junjie, its chief executive officer, alongside Yun Yeyi and Zhou Yucong, a computer vision researcher formerly associated with SenseTime.

In March 2024, MiniMax raised approximately US600millioninafundingroundledbyAlibaba,reachingareportedvaluationofUS2.5 billion. Other investors included Tencent, HongShan, and IDG Capital.

The company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on January 9, 2026, under stock code 0100.

MiniMax’s product portfolio includes its M-series language models, the Hailuo video-generation platform, and MiniMax Audio for voice and music synthesis.

Its H3 video model, released in late July 2026, features 2K resolution, synchronized audio generation, including dialogue, sound effects, and music, and reference-based tools designed to maintain character consistency.

These capabilities could support Folago’s efforts to expand AI-assisted production across short dramas and other digital entertainment formats.

Folago Advances Its AI-Powered Content Strategy

For Folago, the partnership represents a further step in its expansion across AI, media commerce, and entertainment.

PT Folago Global Nusantara Tbk describes itself as a creator-economy company operating across these sectors. Through its subsidiary, PT Folago Artificial Intelligence Commerce (FAIC), the company develops AI-powered micro-dramas, films, music, television advertisements, and livestreaming content, including through its KreasiKita platform.

On September 24, 2026, President Director Subioto Jingga said AI video-generation technology would strengthen the company’s production capabilities in micro-dramas, films, and music.

The MiniMax agreement also gives Folago an opportunity to diversify its revenue streams. Its distribution role could generate income from AI token sales beyond its existing content-production activities, while access to MiniMax’s video technology expands the tools available to FAIC, which had previously cited the use of Dreamina Seedance 2.5.

As demand for AI-powered content creation grows, Folago aims to combine technology distribution with its established creator network to expand access to AI services and strengthen its position in Indonesia’s digital economy.

Conclusion

Folago’s strategic partnership with MiniMax marks a step toward expanding access to AI services in Indonesia. By combining AI token distribution with advanced video-generation technology, the collaboration aims to support digital creators, strengthen AI-powered content production, and create new business opportunities in the country’s growing digital economy.
