Indonesia & UAE (United Arab Emirates) Strengthen Defense Technology Synergy Through Indo Defence 2025

10 months ago | Industrial Transformation

Jakarta, INTI – Indonesia once again hosted an important defence world meeting through the Indo Defence 2025 event. Among the rows of global industry players present, the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair & Overhaul Center (AMMROC) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) stands out with a mission to build strategic partnerships with Indonesia in the development of aerospace technology.

AMMROC's presence at this event is not just routine participation. They bring a big vision to strengthen cooperation between the two countries that have long established close relations, especially in the fields of defence and maintenance of military aircraft.

Indo Defence is a Bridge for Strategic Collaboration

In an interview with INTI Media during the INTI Talk segment, AMMROC's Executive Vice President, Mr. Ahmed bin Saifan Al Falasi, emphasized the importance of Indo Defence as a strategic platform to introduce his company's technological capabilities in the Southeast Asia region.

“Indo Defence is very important for us, because it is a place to showcase our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) capabilities in defence aviation,” he said. AMMROC has participated in this exhibition several times and considers the event effective in establishing business and defence partnership.

Internationally Certified MRO Center

Based in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, AMMROC is known as one of the largest MRO centers in the Samina (South Asia, Middle East, North Africa) region. They have a 1 km² facility, five main hangars, and dozens of supporting workshops. Most proudly, they are the only service center outside the United States certified by Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky to handle C-130, F-16 Block 16, and Blackhawk helicopters.

“With our technological capabilities, we are proud to serve military aircraft from various countries,” Ahmed explains.

Supporting Synergy with Indonesian Aerospace Industry

AMMROC's involvement in Indo Defence  also presents an opportunity to strengthen relationships with partners in Indonesia,. In fact, AMMROC has signed a strategic agreement with Infoglobal in the development of air collaboration between Indonesia and the UAE.

"Indonesia and the UAE have  shared a long-standing friendship. This partnership is very important to support the growth of the defense industries of both countries," Ahmed said.

Southeast Asia Market to Focus on Expansion

AMMROC is paying close attention to the Southeast Asian region. According to Ahmed, the region is not only geographically strategic, but also has the potential for long-term cooperation. Markets from Malaysia, the Philippines, to Indonesia are the focus of AMMROC's expansion in the near future.

While AMMROC has yet to announce any major investment plans, it remains open to opportunities to strengthen its presence in Indonesia, while continuing to develop capabilities from its main base in the UAE.

Conclusion:

The participation of AMMROC from the United Arab Emirates in the Indo Defence 2025 event is clear evidence of the strong commitment of the two countries in strengthening cooperation in the defense technology sector, especially in the aerospace sector. Through collaboration with Indonesian strategic companies such as PTDI, GMF, and Infoglobal, opportunities for joint development of MRO technology and weapon systems are increasingly wide open. In the future, this synergy is expected to not only strengthen national capabilities in the defense sector, but also improve Indonesia's position in the Southeast Asian aerospace industry market.
