Fiber Optic and FWA Expansion Accelerates to Strengthen Digital Connectivity

21 hours ago | Network Infrastructure

Jakarta, INTI - Digital infrastructure and service company PT Ekamas Mora Republik Tbk (MoraRepublic) is targeting the addition of 1.5 million customers in 2026 following the completion of its merger with PT Eka Mas Republik. The target is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand an integrated digital infrastructure ecosystem across Indonesia.

President Director and Chief Executive Officer of PT Ekamas Mora Republik Tbk, Timotius Max Sulaiman, stated that the achievement reflects the company’s success in expanding service coverage while improving operational efficiency.

According to Timotius, MoraRepublic maintained strong growth momentum throughout 2025 by strengthening its core business through the expansion of fiber optic networks, accelerating FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and FTTX deployments, and increasing network capacity to meet rising connectivity demand from both retail and enterprise customers.

“We see the continuously growing demand for connectivity as a long-term opportunity that will continue to be optimized through sustainable infrastructure investment,” he said during the company’s Annual Public Expose in Jakarta on June 15, 2026.

Post-Merger Growth Drives Fiber Optic and FWA Network Expansion

MoraRepublic completed its merger with PT Eka Mas Republik on April 22, 2026. Following the merger, the company’s combined homepass reached more than 12.7 million as of April 30, 2026. The total length of its fiber optic backbone and access network also expanded to over 166,000 kilometers.

The company also recorded more than 2.6 million retail customers and over 17,000 enterprise customers. In the Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segment, MoraRepublic currently operates more than 200 on-air FWA sites across 90 cities and regencies throughout Indonesia.

To maintain post-merger growth momentum, MoraRepublic aims to add 5 million new homepasses, expand its FTTH network coverage to 186 cities and regencies, and develop more than 1,000 FWA sites. This expansion is expected to strengthen the company’s broadband services for both retail and enterprise markets.

Strengthening Broadband Capacity and Strategic Digital Infrastructure

In terms of its 2025 performance, MoraRepublic recorded significant operational and financial growth. Before the merger, the company’s homepass increased by approximately 36 percent to more than 1 million, compared to 788,000 in the previous year.

Retail subscribers grew by around 46 percent to more than 330,000 customers, while enterprise customers increased by approximately 44 percent to more than 17,000 customers. As of December 31, 2025, MoraRepublic’s fiber optic network had reached around 58,000 kilometers, while bandwidth capacity increased by approximately 18 percent to around 38 Tbps.

The strong operational performance contributed to higher revenues. Retail segment revenue rose by approximately 21 percent to around Rp1.3 trillion, while wholesale revenue increased to around Rp876 billion. EBITDA reached approximately Rp2 trillion, representing a 9.8 percent increase compared with the previous year.

The company’s net profit surged by around 96.5 percent to nearly Rp516 billion in 2025, compared with approximately Rp263 billion in the previous year.

On the backbone and last-mile infrastructure side, MoraRepublic is also developing the Rising 8 Project, a submarine fiber optic cable network spanning 1,128.5 kilometers that connects Jakarta, Batam, and Singapore using advanced submarine cable repeater technology.

MoraRepublic is an integrated digital infrastructure and service company formed through the merger of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Tbk and PT Eka Mas Republik. The company combines high-capacity backbone infrastructure with Fiber to the Home (FTTH) services to provide direct connectivity to customers across Indonesia.

Conclusion

MoraRepublic’s accelerated expansion of fiber optic and FWA infrastructure demonstrates its commitment to meeting Indonesia’s growing demand for reliable digital connectivity. Supported by strong post-merger growth, broader network coverage, and strategic investments such as the Rising 8 submarine cable project, the company aims to strengthen Indonesia’s digital ecosystem and support long-term economic transformation.
