DAMAC Digital Invests US$150 Million to Expand Data Center Infrastructure in Jakarta

4 months ago | Data Center

Jakarta, INTI - DAMAC Digital, a global digital infrastructure company headquartered in Dubai, is strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia through the development of its first data center in Indonesia, JKT01, Jakarta Central. The project reflects the company’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s ambition to emerge as a new digital powerhouse in Asia.

“Phase one is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026, further expanding DAMAC Digital’s portfolio across Southeast Asia,” said Hussain Sajwani, Founder of DAMAC Digital, in a statement released Friday, March 13, 2026.

The topping-off ceremony marked the completion of the main structural framework of the six-story facility located in the MT Haryono area of Jakarta. The building spans 15,080 square meters on a 3,600-square-meter site and is designed to distribute up to 19.2 MW of power. It will feature advanced water-cooling tower systems and accommodate up to 1,350 server racks with an average density of 13–15 kW.

“This construction milestone highlights our engineering excellence and long-term strategy. With scalable infrastructure in place, we are ready to support Indonesia’s ambition to become one of Asia’s emerging digital leaders,” Sajwani added.

Meeting Growing Demand for Cloud and Edge Computing

The data center will include three data halls, each covering approximately 760 square meters. The facility is designed to maximize energy efficiency while supporting sustainable operations in line with global green data center standards.

The JKT01 project is also expected to address the growing demand from Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and the expansion of edge computing infrastructure in Indonesia.

Total investment in the project amounts to US$150 million, or approximately Rp2.3 trillion. Strategically located in MT Haryono, part of Jakarta’s interconnected data center cluster, the site enables JKT01 to function as an efficient and well-connected data hub in the capital.

“Choosing this location allows JKT01 to serve as a highly efficient and interconnected data hub in Jakarta,” Sajwani explained.

Since the groundbreaking in August 2025, the first phase of construction has been completed within six months, demonstrating DAMAC Digital’s ability to deliver large-scale infrastructure projects in the Southeast Asian market.

The topping-off ceremony was attended by DAMAC Digital executives and strategic partners, while also recognizing the contributions of everyone involved in the project, from construction teams to international representatives.

With the main structure now completed, DAMAC Digital is confident the facility will become a next-generation data center supporting Indonesia’s digital ecosystem while opening new opportunities in the technology and cloud computing sectors.

Conclusion

The JKT01 data center project highlights DAMAC Digital’s commitment to expanding digital infrastructure in Indonesia while supporting the country’s ambition to become a major digital hub in Southeast Asia.
