CloudFlare Data Shows Bot Web Traffic has Outnumbered Human Web Traffic

4 hours ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - Data from CloudFlare website that analyzes and records internet traffic sources reveals that bots account for 57.1% of the time, while human users have decreased to 42.9%.

This data shows that humans are no longer the largest internet users, but are now being replaced by AI. As technology advances, bots and AI agents increasingly dominate internet traffic.

Faster than Predicted

CloudFlare CEO Matthew Prince stated that the phenomenon of bot dominance on the internet is occurring faster than previously predicted, in 2027.

"Thought it would be end of 2027, then early 2027, but agentic traffic growing so fast that bots have now passed human traffic online for the first time in the Internet's history," Prince said in a post on his X account.

In another post, Prince stated that his company's data shows this trend is here to stay.

It's worth noting that the bots in question are information-searching systems that perform on behalf of users when they ask questions to AI chatbots and then display the results. Cnet explained that searches and visits generate real traffic.

The data shows that more AI agents visit web pages than humans.

Human Users Outnumber Bots in Indonesia

However, CloudFlare's data for Indonesia differs significantly from the global data. Between June 1 and June 7, 2026, human users still outnumbered bots.

Humans accounted for 53.2% of Indonesia's traffic, while bots contributed 46.8%.

This data indicates that many internet users in Indonesia still use their services manually. Every human user actually logs in and accesses the website, not an AI bot.

Conclusion

CloudFlare data shows that global internet traffic is dominated by bots, accounting for 57.1% of total traffic during the period of June 1–7, 2026. While human users traffic fell to 42.9%. CloudFlare CEO Matthew Prince stated that this growth is much faster than expected. The bots in question are primarily AI agents that search and access information from the web on behalf of chatbot users. However, the data in Indonesia is different, with human traffic reaching 53.2% and bots 46.8%.
