5 hours ago | Data Center

Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia's National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) has underscored the critical importance of local data processing as a cornerstone of the country's efforts to strengthen national cyber resilience.

Slamet Aji Pamungkas, Deputy for Economic Cybersecurity and Cryptography at BSSN, said Indonesia's rapidly expanding digital economy requires stronger cybersecurity safeguards and robust protection of the nation's data infrastructure.

"Local data processing has become a key component of Indonesia's national cybersecurity strategy," Slamet said in Jakarta on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

He welcomed strategic technology investments that prioritize local data residency, noting that such initiatives are essential to strengthening Indonesia's digital sovereignty.

According to Slamet, both public and private sector organizations should be empowered to adopt advanced technologies securely while ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and protection of national data.

He added that locally hosted infrastructure enables organizations operating in Indonesia to maintain full domestic data residency while benefiting from access to world-class AI-powered cybersecurity capabilities.

TrendAI Launches Local AI Cybersecurity Data Center

Meanwhile, Fetra Syahbana, Country Manager of TrendAI Indonesia, said the country's regulatory landscape has become increasingly demanding following the implementation of Indonesia's Personal Data Protection (PDP) Law and data localization and cybersecurity requirements issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the financial sector.

To support Indonesia's national cybersecurity strategy, TrendAI has launched its first local data center in the country, serving as the hosting platform for its integrated AI-powered cybersecurity solution.

"TrendAI Vision One has been available since July 1, 2026. The launch of our local infrastructure represents our new identity as TrendAI," Fetra said.

He explained that the local deployment of TrendAI Vision One enables Indonesian organizations to embrace AI innovation with stronger cybersecurity protection while meeting strict regulatory and data residency requirements.

Fetra added that TrendAI integrates artificial intelligence across its cybersecurity platform to consolidate multiple security tools, reduce operational complexity, and help organizations accelerate secure digital transformation with greater visibility, control, and resilience.

Conclusion

Indonesia's push for local data processing highlights the growing importance of data sovereignty and cybersecurity resilience in the digital era. With stronger local infrastructure and AI-driven security solutions, organizations can better protect critical data while supporting secure digital transformation.
