Amazon Announces Additional USD 13 Billion Investment in India for AI and Cloud

Jakarta, INTI - Amazon is adding USD 13 billion to its investment plans in India, expanding the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud infrastructure.

With this additional investment, Amazon takes its total investment in the country to USD 48 billion between 2026 and 2030.

The additional expansion funds will expand the capacity of Amazon Web Services data centers in Mumbai and Hyderabad, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The e-commerce giant also said it will open more than 20 new fulfillment centers and more than 100 new delivery stations across India this year. Amazon also said that it will expand its Amazon Now fast delivery service to more cities and towns in India.

Initial USD 35 Billion Investment

Previously in 2025, Amazon announced a USD 35 billion investment in India by 2030. This aligns with other global technology companies targeting growth opportunities in markets undergoing rapid digitization.

The company stated that its total investment in India from 2010 to 2030 is now expected to exceed US$88 billion.

Conclusion 

Amazon is investing an additional USD 13 billion in India to accelerate the development of AI and cloud infrastructure by expanding data center capacity in Mumbai and Hyderabad. This additional investment adds to the company’s previous commitment of more than USD 35 billion by 2030.
