3 months ago | Artificial Intelligence

Jakarta, INTI - Real-time communication technology platform Agora and IT services company FPT have announced a strategic partnership to expand the adoption of artificial intelligence in the banking and financial services sector across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

The collaboration combines Agora’s real-time engagement and conversational AI capabilities with FPT’s regional reach and enterprise integration expertise to help financial institutions enhance customer service quality while improving digital operational efficiency.

Chief Revenue Officer of FPT Smart Cloud, Mark Hall Andrew, stated, "With the combination of FPT’s enterprise AI capabilities and Agora’s real-time conversational infrastructure, we are enabling banks and financial institutions in Southeast Asia to deliver more efficient, responsive, and trusted digital experiences at scale."

Conversational AI for Secure, Multichannel Financial Services

By integrating Agora’s Conversational AI and low-latency real-time communication infrastructure into FPT’s enterprise AI ecosystem, banks and financial institutions can provide secure and intelligent interactions across voice, chat, and video channels.

The partnership supports services such as payments and account management, loan and credit lifecycle interactions, insurance onboarding and policy management, claims assistance, as well as cross-border and multilingual customer services.

The solution also enables AI-powered virtual assistants with human support integrated into a single service flow across chat, voice, and video in real time.

FPT’s AI solutions have already been adopted by more than 40 global banks and financial institutions to power digital banking and large-scale customer service operations.

Indonesia is described as one of the most dynamic digital banking and financial services markets in Southeast Asia. Data from Bank Indonesia shows that digital banking transactions grew 54.89 percent year-on-year through September 2024, driven by transfers, QRIS payments, and increased mobile channel usage.

Meanwhile, data from the International Trade Administration indicates that 56.3 million users conducted transactions via QRIS in early 2025.

CEO of Agora, Tony Zhao, stated, “As financial services in Indonesia continue to digitize, trust, security, and compliance are just as important as innovation.”

He emphasized that Conversational AI plays a crucial role in expanding customer service capacity, automating routine requests, supporting digital onboarding processes, and providing real-time assistance across multiple channels without compromising security and governance.

Tony Zhao added, "By combining Agora’s real-time conversational intelligence with FPT’s enterprise AI ecosystem, we enable banks and financial institutions to engage with customers in a more natural, efficient, and reliable way at scale."

Conclusion

The Agora–FPT partnership reflects a broader shift toward AI-driven digital transformation in Southeast Asia’s banking sector. By combining conversational AI with enterprise-scale infrastructure, the collaboration aims to enhance service efficiency, strengthen customer trust, and support the region’s rapidly expanding digital financial ecosystem.
