Jakarta, INTI - Indonesia’s national mobile network has grown significantly stronger as ZTE Corporation, a leading provider of integrated ICT solutions, together with XLSMART, successfully completed the deployment of more than 20,000 Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) sites within just eight months. This milestone sets a new benchmark for large-scale national cellular network rollouts.
The collaboration between ZTE and XLSMART aims to expand network coverage, enhance reliability and data throughput, and deliver an improved user experience. This initiative aligns with XLSMART’s mission to continuously elevate the quality of mobile services across Indonesia.
Scaling Up National Network Infrastructure
Amid rising demand for reliable mobile connectivity, driven by the growth of e-commerce, digital payments, cloud services, and video streaming, the project introduces a structured and efficient approach to large-scale network modernization. Speed of deployment and service quality remain key priorities in meeting rapidly evolving market needs.
“Nationwide MOCN implementation requires both robust technology and precise execution. The combination of XLSMART’s operational capabilities and ZTE’s end-to-end solutions has accelerated deployment while maintaining the highest standards of reliability, performance, and user experience,” said Shurish Subbramaniam, Chief Technology Officer of XLSMART. “As a result, customers across various regions are experiencing significant improvements, laying a strong foundation for the next generation of Indonesia’s mobile networks.”
As the technology partner, ZTE managed the end-to-end implementation, from site deployment and integration to network optimization across the entire MOCN footprint. The project involved intensive coordination, strong local team support, and continuous performance adjustments to ensure rapid deployment without compromising quality. For instance, services such as Facebook recorded notable throughput improvements, highlighting the benefits of an integrated national mobile infrastructure.
“We are proud to partner with XLSMART to expand coverage and strengthen Indonesia’s connectivity. This achievement reflects strong team synergy and commitment. Supported by ZTE’s digital-intelligent ecosystem, the network integration was completed in record time,” said Sun Fangping, SVP & President of Global Service at ZTE Corporation. “Moving forward, this collaboration will help build a high-performance national mobile network ready to meet Indonesia’s growing digital demands.”
With over 40 years of industry experience, ZTE combines technological innovation with large-scale operational capabilities, making network construction excellence a key pillar in supporting its strategic partners.
Through its “Connectivity + Computing Power” strategy, ZTE integrates advanced solutions with strong local support to build an efficient, reliable, and sustainable digital ecosystem, delivering high-quality national mobile infrastructure that unlocks new opportunities across Indonesia.
Looking ahead, ZTE and XLSMART plan to expand their collaboration in 5G development, intelligent network management, and AI-driven operations, further supporting Indonesia’s digital ecosystem growth and preparing the national mobile network for next-generation services.
Conclusion
The successful deployment of over 20,000 MOCN sites marks a major milestone in strengthening Indonesia’s digital infrastructure. Through strategic collaboration, ZTE and XLSMART have not only improved network performance and coverage but also laid a solid foundation for future technologies such as 5G and AI-driven networks. This initiative highlights the critical role of scalable, high-quality connectivity in accelerating Indonesia’s digital transformation.
