Jakarta, INTI - Zettabyte and Raku Advanced Tech have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop environmentally sustainable artificial intelligence (AI) data center capacity across Asia, with initial projects planned in Taiwan and Thailand.
The partnership brings together Zettabyte’s expertise in operating AI computing infrastructure and Raku Advanced Tech’s capabilities in data center development, solar power generation, energy storage, and energy management systems.
Under the collaboration, the two companies plan to gradually develop and operate AI data centers across multiple locations in Asia, supported by renewable energy infrastructure provided by Raku Advanced Tech.
The partnership comes amid growing demand for AI computing across Asia, which is reportedly expanding faster than the region’s local data center capacity.
Taiwan and Thailand Selected as Initial Locations
Taiwan has been identified as one of the initial locations because it serves as a base for both companies and is a major hub for AI hardware supply and computing infrastructure.
Thailand, meanwhile, has been targeted for expansion due to its position as one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing data center markets.
Zettabyte will provide and monitor computing performance through its zSUITE platform, while Raku Advanced Tech will oversee data center development and energy infrastructure support.
The two companies will also explore additional AI data center opportunities across the region while maintaining their ESG commitments, including environmental protection and workforce development.
Zettabyte Chairman Kenneth Tai said Asia’s AI growth will depend not only on available computing capacity but also on reliable electricity supplies capable of supporting the operation of AI infrastructure.
“AI growth in Asia is increasingly dependent on both power supply and computing capacity,” said Kenneth Tai.
“Together with Raku Advanced Tech, we can address both energy and computing requirements while expanding AI capacity across the region,” he added.
Renewable Energy to Support AI Infrastructure
Raku Advanced Tech will be responsible for data center development while providing solar power generation, energy storage systems, and energy management solutions to support facility operations.
Zettabyte, meanwhile, will manage the computing infrastructure deployed within the data centers.
Davis Chuang, Chairman of Raku Advanced Tech and Director of Raku Co., Ltd., said the division of responsibilities will enable both companies to address rising AI demand while tackling the challenges associated with energy costs.
“Raku Advanced Tech develops the data centers and provides power through solar generation and energy storage systems, while Zettabyte manages the computing infrastructure within the facilities,” said Davis Chuang.
“This collaboration allows us to meet the growing demand for AI while addressing the challenge of rising energy costs,” he added.

The company provides customizable AI computing solutions for enterprises and research organizations, covering high-performance networking through to comprehensive cluster management.
Raku Advanced Tech is a Taipei-based smart energy and AI infrastructure integrator and a wholly owned subsidiary of Raku Co., Ltd.
Its services include photovoltaic solar power systems, user-side energy storage, energy management systems, hardware and software integration for smart AI applications, and the development of ready-to-operate AI computing facilities.
The collaboration is expected to expand AI computing capacity across Asia by combining data center development with the phased deployment of renewable energy infrastructure.
