Jakarta, INTI - Niki Luhur, Founder and Group CEO of VIDA, emphasized the importance of strengthening digital identity security infrastructure to protect Indonesia’s rapidly growing financial technology (fintech) ecosystem.
He stated that cybercrime tactics are becoming increasingly sophisticated and complex, making it crucial for fintech industry players to mitigate potential threats as early as possible.
“We all realize that scams are becoming more widespread globally, with constantly evolving methods. Consumer education alone is not enough to address these challenges,” Niki Luhur said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
To minimize losses caused by cybercrime, he stressed that stronger infrastructure and a supportive legal ecosystem are essential to better protect consumers and improve security standards across the fintech industry.
Multi Layered Defense Against Advanced Digital Fraud
He also stated that implementing a multi-layered defense system is essential to address increasingly sophisticated digital fraud schemes.
According to Niki Luhur, there are four security layers that fintech companies can adopt to strengthen system protection: individual verification, device verification, identity verification, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
VIDA has also introduced a feature called “Beyond Liveness” to help Indonesia’s fintech ecosystem detect increasingly complex digital fraud threats that can no longer be addressed through a single layer of security alone.
He explained that the technology does not rely on a single verification point, but instead combines five simultaneous security layers, including device behavior analysis, network pattern monitoring, and real-time behavioral analytics.
Moving forward, the company remains committed to delivering government-certified, globally standardized digital identity solutions to ensure digital security for millions of users and hundreds of businesses across Indonesia and international markets.
“Just like in the medieval era, when castles were built with multiple defense layers to protect against enemy attacks, a similar approach must also be applied in building security within the fintech industry,” Niki added.
Conclusion
VIDA emphasized that strengthening digital identity security through multi-layered protection and AI-driven technologies is becoming increasingly critical as cyber threats continue to evolve. By combining advanced verification systems, behavioral analytics, and government-certified digital identity solutions, the company aims to help create a safer and more resilient fintech ecosystem in Indonesia and beyond.
