3 weeks ago | Digital Technology

Jakarta, INTI - A subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia, Dayamitra Telekomunikasi (Mitratel/MTEL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ZTE Indonesia to develop network efficiency solutions and related technologies in the country.

The MoU marks an initial milestone in the partnership, establishing a collaborative framework focused on exploring new technologies, evaluating concepts, conducting technical testing, and developing innovative solutions to enhance the capability and efficiency of Indonesia’s telecommunications infrastructure.

Exploring New Technologies and Strengthening Digital Infrastructure

Under the agreement, Mitratel and ZTE will collaborate on research and assessment of emerging technologies, including technical validation and solution development aimed at improving service quality and optimizing network performance.

This partnership is expected to bring a more adaptive approach to the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry, while strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.

Mitratel President Director Theodorus Ardi Hartoko stated that the collaboration aligns with the company’s commitment to driving innovation and efficiency in managing telecommunications infrastructure. He emphasized that the strategic partnership with ZTE represents an important step in expanding technology exploration to enhance network capabilities and operational efficiency.

As a digital infrastructure provider, Mitratel aims to deliver solutions that are reliable, sustainable, and adaptable to the evolving needs of operators and communities. He added that the collaboration is expected to unlock new opportunities for technological advancement and create added value for the industry.

Meanwhile, Richard Liang welcomed the partnership as part of a joint effort to strengthen Indonesia’s telecommunications infrastructure. He noted that ZTE has previously collaborated with Telkom Group on various initiatives, including energy solutions to support infrastructure operations.

Driving Innovation Through RAN Development and Energy Efficiency

Through this MoU, both parties will explore opportunities in several areas, such as the development of Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies and the use of more efficient energy sources to support network management. The collaboration is expected to deliver more adaptive infrastructure solutions to meet the growing demand for network capacity and efficiency.

The partnership will cover a range of joint initiatives, including technology concept development, technical trials, and potential implementation of innovative solutions aligned with market needs. More specific agreements, whether technical, operational, or commercial, will be outlined in future definitive contracts mutually agreed upon by both parties.

The MoU is non-binding in nature and will remain effective for two years from the signing date, unless extended by mutual agreement. This collaboration reflects both companies’ commitment to supporting Indonesia’s digital transformation through stronger infrastructure and more efficient technology utilization.

By upholding principles of good governance, regulatory compliance, and data confidentiality, the partnership is expected to serve as a solid foundation for future strategic projects.

Conclusion

The collaboration between Dayamitra Telekomunikasi and ZTE highlights a shared commitment to advancing Indonesia’s telecommunications infrastructure through innovation and efficiency. By focusing on emerging technologies, network optimization, and sustainable solutions, the partnership is expected to strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem. As both companies continue to explore and develop new capabilities, this initiative lays the groundwork for more resilient, adaptive, and future-ready network infrastructure.
