Starlink’s Global User Growth is Reportedly High, Recorded 10 Million Subscribers in February

1 hour ago | Network Infrastructure

Jakarta, INTI - Market research firm Apptopia reported that Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by SpaceX, is experiencing global growth in both users and app downloads. This momentum is seen as a key factor supporting SpaceX’s anticipated public listing later this year.

During the first quarter, global downloads of the Starlink app and its monthly active users (MAU) more than doubled compared to last year. The service has now recorded four straight quarters where MAU growth exceeded 100%.

Investor interest in SpaceX’s potential IPO is largely tied to Starlink, which is viewed as the company’s main growth engine and a major contributor to its projected valuation of around $1.75 trillion. The business is estimated to have generated about $11.4 billion in revenue last year.

Over 20% of Starlink Active Users are from Argentina and Brazil

Growth has been strong across both emerging and developed markets. Brazil stands out as one of the fastest-growing regions, with its MAU increasing more than fivefold year-over-year. The country now represents roughly 13% of Starlink’s global user base, up significantly from under 5% a year earlier.

Argentina has also seen significant expansion, with user numbers rising by 159%. Together, Brazil and Argentina now account for over 20% of Starlink’s global active users. In the United States, Starlink’s largest and most profitable market, growth remains robust. App downloads more than tripled year-over-year to reach a record 1.2 million in the first quarter, signaling accelerating subscriber adoption.

Starlink’s strong performance in multiple regions suggests that it is still in a high-growth phase, especially after surpassing 10 million subscribers in February. Analysts note that continued user expansion will be critical, particularly as investors evaluate future opportunities such as SpaceX’s plans to develop orbital data centers as the next stage of its business growth.

Conclusion

Starlink is experiencing rapid global growth, with app downloads and monthly active users more than doubling and surpassing 10 million subscribers. This momentum, strong across both emerging markets like Brazil and Argentina and mature markets such as the US, is driving investor interest in SpaceX’s expected IPO. Starlink is seen as the main contributor to its projected $1.75 trillion valuation.
