Jakarta, INTI - PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA) is targeting 10 hectares of land sales in Karawang for data center development in 2026. The company also reported similar demand for data center sites in its Subang industrial area.
SSIA President Director Johannes Suriadjaja said that the data center land transactions expected to materialize this year are currently focused on Karawang, where supporting infrastructure is considered more complete. Meanwhile, the Subang area is still completing the second phase of its electricity infrastructure development.
“For Karawang, electricity is supplied by PLN, while water is provided by the industrial estate, and we are able to meet the requirements. Data centers are quite demanding in terms of infrastructure, particularly electricity capacity and water supply,” Johannes said during the Public Expose Live on September 7.
Data Center Demand Supports SSIA’s Property Business
The growing demand for data center land is aligned with SSIA’s core property business, alongside its construction and hospitality segments.
During the first half of 2026, Suryacipta Karawang was the company’s largest contributor to land sales, recording 7.2 hectares. It was followed by Subang Smartpolitan with 2.2 hectares, while other locations contributed 0.7 hectares. Combined marketing sales from these areas reached Rp196 billion.
On an accounting sales basis, SSIA recorded Rp1.076 trillion, a significant increase from Rp167 billion in the same period last year. The increase was primarily supported by accounting sales from Subang Smartpolitan.
AI Growth Expected to Drive Future Data Center Demand
Johannes is also optimistic that the growing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) will support SSIA’s performance over the next two to three years, as demand for data center land continues to rise.
“We believe data center demand for industrial estates will remain strong over the next two years. The most important requirements for data centers are electricity, water, and network connectivity, and we need to be able to provide all three,” he said.
